Anyone who's been in Disneyana will have seen the five-foot Mickey with his hand outstretched to greet all visitors. Here's a picture of him: http://www.colddeadfish.net/images/DLR/5ftmickey.jpg. Those have been selling for a number of years now, with an edition size of 100. Since they've now all sold out, the next figure in the collection has been released, and it's Bandleader Mickey. Here's a picture of him: http://www.colddeadfish.net/images/DLR/5ftblmickey1.jpg. The edition size for Bandleader Mickey is 50 with a price of $11,000. (Yes, CM and AP discounts do apply.) Shipping costs about $300, and the product is shipped directly from the manufacturer.

Bandleader Mickey arrived earlier this weekend. He'll be gone for about a week or so as he gets a base attached to him, and then he'll return. He also comes with a baton and a feather for his hat, but since they are easily damaged, they are not put out on display, but if you ask a cast member, they can take them out so you can see the completed figure. Here's a picture of him with his baton and feather:

He's a really spectacular figure. Wouldn't it be great to have a house big enough so that when you enter, Bandleader Mickey greets you in the foyer?

I'll give a dollar to the first person that posts a picture of him with a corndog in his outstretched hand.

$11,000. Puh-leaze.

Since he's probably gone by now, that's gonna be pretty hard to do...

:)Before checking out the pictures, I might've said yes. I was expecting Mickey to look like he did in the cartoon. But there's something about this that just doesn't seem right, and the color red he's wearing is one that I really don't like very much.

So yes, it would be great to have a house big enough to accommodate such a statue, but I wouldn't put this in my foyer (or any other room).

I'd replace the feather with a unicorn horn, and the baton with a corndog :)
