With all the drama about not being able to access LoT I almost forgot...
I finally bought a Mini Cooper on Sunday (I've been wanting one for quite a while)!! It is so cool, and so much fun to drive!
I'll post some pictures when I get home tonight.

a little advice for new car folks. to keep the stress of new ownership to a minimum, I highly recommend the following:
take a small nail file and go out to the new wheels and put a scratch on it yourself. doesnt have to be much, just enough to break that virginal mindset one has when a new car is involved.
because:
1) its much better to be the first one to ding dent or scratch your new ride. prevents homicidal incidents with unknowns
2) after that first one, even when someone else does ding or dent you (and you KNOW they will), its less painful since theres already one there.....and its yours.
3) you spend alot less time looking for 'safe' parking, since, as said before....the first one is already there.
I know it sounds cruel and the like, but trust me, you'll eliminate TONS of self induced stress by just getting that first buggered up spot out of the way quickly.
mi dos centavos.
(btw, love the coopers)

The Captain is quite wise. Ooo, when I found these two odd marks on my car I was soooo pissed.  Made me want to go and trade it in. {only sort of kidding...} Scratches but weird.
I have to park my car in a lot {shopping center} a lot of days. I try to park it where carts will be least likely to get to it.
I LOVE the mini cooper!!! I want one sooooo bad. I saw this couple up in Yosemite with one. Must be F-U-N to drive around on roads like that??? They said they loved it. I was so jealous. Well, I was.
Congrats to you!! I am going to be coming back looking for pictures......:snap:

(Yes... I'm 5.)
When the Hubster bought me my first new car {he said it was mine so we had to go out and buy him one, too} I so wanted to put that on my license plate. 'MINE' or 'MYHNE' {cause they said for sure someone else would already have 'MINE'....I did see one with {however it was spelled out to fit} said "my escape" {I know that is too many but ya know...}
And, I am only 4. :D

Oooo... I got a package in the mail today from MiniUSA. All kinds of keen gear:
A blank journal
An "Unauthorized" Owner's Manual
A Toggle Switch Re-labeling Kit (Up Periscope, Ejector Seat, Oil Slick, etc)
Highway Bingo cards
Message flash cards
One of those "floaty" pens - where a tny Mini floats back and forth in the clear upperpart of the pen
I love my Mini! :snap:

I've always liked the Mini. A small and manueverable car seems like a much more fun experience than a huge SUV, though it might be a little scary to be towered over by other vehicles occasionally. Congrats!

Nice choice. I absolutely love the mini. Killer style, fantastically executed interior. Now ergonomics are not stellar, but who cares...all in the name of style. Love the toggles in the car. Handling is very nice...quite go-karty. If it was RWD as opposed to FWD, I would probably own one myself. That said I think I will be getting a Miata instead...but the Mini is an extremely tempting choice. And their marketing is fabulous. Your owner kit is just another example. They deliver on a very clear marketing message and are the absolute best in the industry at flawlessly executing said strategy throughout all mediums. They just drip with personality and have been succesfull at avoiding too much BMW influence.
Killer choice...killer.
