So, we'll be making our annual "I swear this is the last one" trip south in December. I have to overplan everything, which means it's almost time to make dinning reservations or priority seatings or virgin sacrifices or whatever they're called now. Which means I need to know if there's any interest in any sort of meet-y goodness, so that I don't plan my very important birthday dinner at Napa Rose for the one time other people are available.

So, anyone up for meeting? No Seahawks games during our trip this time, so BT should actually show himself. We're scheduled to arrive mid-day on the 16th (Saturday, the 32nd anniversay of my birth) and departing early evening on Wednesday the 20th.

Did I mention that I'll be celebrating my birthday? :p

We should still be in town for part of that. I will try to be there to celebrate with you!

I'm sure we'll be able to make the long journey down the street.

Any special reason you chose those dates? ;)

Hmmm, might be fun to fly down for this. JetBlue is having a sale, I'll have to check on when I need to fly by....

If you're doing pricey b-day stuff on Saturday, how about if we pull a Sunday meet?

Prudence

Well, I can do the birthday dining extravaganza any day, I just need to know what day NOT to pick. Is Sunday a bad day for folks with work the next day? It would be slightly better for us in that we'd have that zomg! we have to go on all the rides now! thing out of systems, but we could theoretically pretend to be adults on Saturday. Or any other day, for that matter.

We're supposed to pretend to be adults with this group?

In the interest of being decisive:

Who's up for a meet Sunday, December 17th? There are so many folks here we'd like to meet - for the first time or a repeat. And we're not above bribing you with birthday cake.

Too much in advance, right? And not Zomg! Pru's headed south - let's evacuate the state? Don't make me pull out the dramatic back-of-hand-to-forehead swoon!

Ok - I'm just going to continue modelling proper type A behavior and overplan my trip and hopefully run into some fine LoT folk on the 17th.

We can't commit. That's the beginning of Hannukah and depending on what schedules look like, there's a good chance we'll be busy visiting family. But we're never short on creative solutions to visiting family AND getting to Disneyland in the same weekend, just can't make any promises.

I've got it on my calendar, looking forward to meeting you in person.

I'm trying to ignore December until at least November.

I'm trying to ignore December until at least November.

And this is the difference between locals and the rest of us. The Disney Travel Month is what makes the intervening months bearable. I'm planning to ignore as much of October and November as possible, even as it passes me by.

Whee! Less than one month to go!

Sunday might not be a good day for me but during the week I can hopefully come play. I'd love to meet you two! :)

What day is it? I don't remember owning these pants! I can't remember what day I'm supposed to play tour guide for Prudence... I need more caffeine

That would be Monday, December 18!

I think that might be OK. Thanks for comin' into town before we leave for vacation, at least!

So, it's now less than two weeks until our visit. We'd still like to meet LoTers and be suitably festive on the 17th. Is there an appropriate bat time and channel? Is the AP lounge still at the GCH?

One last message and I promise I’ll stop.

On or about 2pm on Sunday, December 17, I will be in the GC lobby or Hearthstone Lounge area. I’ll be the one wearing a birthday button and knitting a sock. At some point, we will be hiking out to our room at the Disneyland Hotel for cake and naked anatomy twister good clean wholesome fun.

We’d love to have you join us for socializing and/or cake. We understand that it’s a busy time of year and you may have other plans. Please join us if you are interested and available. If you miss us at the GC, my cell number is 10,000,000,000 – 5,740,685,848 (or I’m sure Lisa has it).

I'm gonna try and make it. Need some more Disneyland Christmas fix anyway, and visiting swankers is a happy bonus that shouldn't be missed!

We're packing up and getting ready to take to the skies on our way down there. Hopefully we'll see some of you Sunday - 2ish, Grand Cal, birthday girl armed with knitting needles. Cell number is in the exciting math equation posted back there somewhere.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and helped consume the enormous cake! Photos will be available eventually...

This may have been the best trip yet for us. Although, once again BT managed to injure himself at the end. He's got some issue with his left calf that the doc can't figure out yet - although the ultrasound says it's not a blood clot. That boy gets the strangest injuries!

But all-in-all, a successful trip - finally got a photo with Oscar at the Carnation Cafe, an amazing dinner at the Napa Rose (best yet, I think), a fun-filled day at Universal with our own personal tour guides, lights, faux snow, injury-free Matterhorn rides, and last but not least - a chance to boogie down with Mickey and Minnie and the 80s All Stars.
