Starting with this news: my wedding dress came in yesterday!

I remember what a whirl it was getting ready for our wedding. But it's nothing compared to how exhausted I felt when our children were born.

So, when and where is the big event? Are you honeymooning in Florida?

Y'oughtta!

Well, congratulations! The wedding dress is a big step out of the way!

I'm outta the loop, when's the big day?

Thanks, all!

I'm outta the loop, when's the big day?

The big day is June 9 of 2007.

So, when and where is the big event? Are you honeymooning in Florida?

The big event is in Michigan, but we'll be having a fun reception in Los Angeles, too.

And, no, we're not honeymooning in Floriday. (Lo siento!) We're honeymooning in Italy.

Hee hee. Actually, I really like homemade gifts (even if they're tacky.) I understand why some wouldn't, but you're egging on the wrong girl!

And I can't post pictures! My fiance reads LoT!

Oh, fine. I'll post a picture of something Tom CAN see.

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j127/writersinlove/cake.jpg

Cake for Michigan (I'll only be revealing details about the MI wedding, since I want to surprise those coming to the CA party)

Flavors to include:
-Chocolate sour cream with white chocolate buttercream
-Vanilla bean pound cake with blackberry preserves and lemon curd
-Almond pound cake with espresso buttercream
-Banana cake with buttercream-cheese

I like it - and now I'm hungry for cake. Sounds yummers.

Wedding tip, if you put a Ken and Barbie on the top of your cake, they're much larger than regular wedding top people so you have to make a much bigger cake.

Hey, you have the first piece of the puzzle right there.

(Not that I'm implying that a wedding is like a puzzle or anything to that extent, of course!)

Here's hoping that everything goes well...and if not...that you can laugh at the mishaps. ;)

Mmmmmmm...cake...

But, I have a question...what is this lemon curd that you speak of? Is it anything like cheese curd? Except that it tastes like lemon?

Or, is it more like what Little Miss Muffet was eating in the rhyme with that spider?

LSPoorEeyorick

OMG. Lemon curd is a creamy lemon sauce made with eggs, butter, sugar, and lemon. It was referred to in my livejournal by a wise woman as "the lemon part of a well-made lemon merangue pie." SO YUMMY.

And speaking of pie... damn, G, did you have to post that picture of the pie dress? Now I want pie.

Our engagement pictures are in! Our wonderful photographer (NGU) has done an excellent job, and Union Station couldn't be any lovelier. (We're pretty cute, too.)

Go to www.pictage.com, look for event "heidi powers" and you'll see us there. (You'll have to become a pictage member-- but they have a good privacy policy, and if you've seen T and K's engagement photos, you already have one!)

There are a lot of them, but if you look in the "Heidi's Favorites" folder, you'll catch the cream of the crop.

Well, part of it was the 10 AM on a Saturday factor. Little bit less busy then. Otherwise, we were claiming nooks and crannies that people don't generally visit (though, they ought to. That place is so beautiful!)

We have a surprisingly large amount of stuff already settled and finished (due in part to having only one solid week in Michigan for planning.)

Is there some sort of tiara crowning-ceremony for the passing of the Bridezilla hat? :D

Heck yeah, you guys managed to hit most of my favorite nooks and crannies - if only you could have gained access to those "closed to the public" areas...

Great pictures, though - I already know which ones are my favorite!
