Hahaha, my very old friend, Bonnie "R" won the Stephen Colbert Greenscreen Challenge. The other finalist was none other than George "L" who appeared live on the show ... but even his friends at ILM were not able to whip up a better greenscreen Colbert battle than my photoshop wiz of a pal, Bonnie.
Hahahahaha, yesterday people from all ends of the spectrum emailed me links, some saying it was about Bonnie and others saying it was about Star Wars. I couldn't imagine how that would all come together till I watched. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oSzmq0vMWw)
Teehee Teehee.

Frickin hilarious!
What was her "Thank you gift"?
And George "L" has zippo personality

Bonnie's video was great! I particularly liked the music choice - John Ashcroft's horrid "Let the Eagles Soar." I hope she got something cool for her non-prize.

Ashcroft's "Eagle" has been used several times on Colbert-- clearly Bonnie has been watching faithfully (as we do!)
iSm, it's so cool that you know her! We saw this when it aired, and were completely delighted and amused with her entry (and George L being a good sport by appearing on the show.) In fact, I had been meaning to post a thread about the green screen challenge!
She did an excellent job.

That was wicked awesome! Took a look at the ones posted on the Comedy Central site, and Bonnie's was definitely the standout. Mucho creativity!

^ Not a contest, though someone did win.
Just saying.

An A#1 top notch fusion of creativity and technology. Bravo! :snap:
Do you have any additional technical details? Was it done entirely in photoshop, or were other applications used?

Was it done entirely in photoshop, or were other applications used?I can guarantee other applications were used. Photoshop doesn't do animation (unless you count animated gifs, but even then, you need Photoshop's sister application Image Ready.)

Unless she did each frame individually in Photoshop

Oh, and the non-prize, to answer an earlier question, was a set of Colbert bathwear (rope, slippers, etc.) and a Colbert Report Golden Ticket.
Greetings to You, Bonnie Rose, the lucky hero who has been granted this Golden Ticket from Dr. Stephen Colbert upon your successful win of the Non-Contest Greenscreen Challenge.
Present this Ticket at the Colbert Report on 54th Street between 10th and 11th Ave in New York City, on any show night, and you will be granted entry from the day you receive this Ticket until the day Jesus Christ returns. You may bring with you one member of your family, or a dear friend.
In your wildest dreams you cannot imagine the Marvelous Surprises that await you!
Better than the prizes, according to Bonnie, was the personal phone call she received from Stephen Colbert the next day. Seems they didn't really converse on the show, and Bonnie actually had no idea that George Lucas was the other contestant 'in studio.'
Although Stephen didn't get her sly reference to Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House (which was my favorite part), he liked her entry best because, among other things, it was not Star Wars.

I better defend myself with my lightsaber!" Sadly, many people couldn't think outside of what he said. There were SO MANY with space bears in them. I mean, duh.
Here's another great one. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=k2D2MNawQXI)

Golden Tickent, sweetness. And yeah, completely stripping the Star Wars obviousness was a stroke of genius, and well deserving of winning the nontest.
