My Dad use to listen to him a lot. Although I can't honestly say I really liked his music I can say I am quite familiar with it and am sad that he passed.

I noticed the following in KBs link:

"In February 1999, Fender was awarded a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame after then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush wrote to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce endorsing him."

Who knew?

I was very familiar with his music, as my dad also liked his stuff. Thanks for posting this - I wasn't aware he passed away, and thank you also sleepyjeff, for the Bush/Fender link - GW is everywhere!
