The Lowdown
80s night + birthday + drinking = silly fun

The Scene
Neighbours calls itself "Seattle's favorite gay nightclub" but really, anyone is welcome. We were there on a Thursday night - 80s night - to celebrate a birthday.

The crowd is about as diverse as it gets, with a mix of ages, genders, races, and preferences. Some divas, some definitely not, many dressed in unfortunate 80s fashions. There was a welcome lack of the obnoxious kiddies that tend to show up at more mainstream clubs.

It was actually a pretty fun atmosphere. It was a weeknight, so my ride had to pick me up way too early (I wasn't about to stay sober enough to drive and that's a looooong cab ride home) and thus I missed the really hopping hours, but it was pretty fun nonetheless.

The mix of music was surprisingly great. There was a little bit of everything. (Although I swear if I never hear Borderline again it will be too soon.) There were the songs everyone knew, the ones no one remembered, and a number of guilty pleasures.

Drinks weren't a bargain, but a decent amount of booze for your buck.

So if you're in the area on a Thursday night, it's definitely worth a drop by. With a $3 cover, how can you go wrong?

(The wedding thread reminded me I'd been meaning to post this.)
