Well, Award season is here. I've only see 2 of the nominees. Thank you for smoking and Little Miss Sunshine. I'm glad LMS was nominated for quite a few including Feature, screenplay and Alan Arkin for actor.

Any thoughts?

Ugh. It has been a bad theatrical movie year for me, especially now that we are out in the suburbs. I've only seen one of the best feature nominees (Little Miss Sunshine which is wonderful) and only came close to seeing one of the others (Half Nelson, but in the end I'm just not interested; I'd be going only because I think Ryan Gosling is one of our great young actors).

In the end, of all the nominated movies I've only seen:

Little Miss Sunshine
The Illusionist (didn't like it)
Thank You For Smoking (meh at best)

I'll have to set up my award season Netflix queue soon to squeeze in as many as possible by Febraury.

We've seen Little Miss Sunshine, Half Nelson, A Prairie Home Companion, The Illusionist, and Quinceanera. I LOVE LMS, and quite enjoyed Prairie Home Companion too. I am disappointed Quinceanera didn't get more. I thought it was lovely. (The producer is a friend of Tom's.)
