Bad dreams!
are keeping me awake at night
Bad dreams!
I think I'm gonna turn on the light
Bad dreams!
how long are they gonna go on
(I don't know!)
Here comes the beast again!

Oh, nooooo -- the guy on Nightline said Constantinople.

Istanbul....not Contantinople (this could be going on for days.)

"I remember once when I was but a child of tender years
The day that I discovered the catalog from Sears
The people in the pictures they made me stop and stare
For who would guess that they'd be dressed in thermal underwear."

Right now, I have "City of Blinding Lights" by U2, and I honestly thought they'd brought themselves to a point where I could no longer listen to anything new they put out (didn't care for the last two albums, and Vertigo just grates on me) but this song is the same kind of powerful romantic (if not a bit cliche at moments) rock that I love from U2.

The more you see the less you know
The less you find out as you go
I knew much more then than I do now

Neon heart, day-glow eyes
The city lit by fireflies
They're advertising in the skies
For people like us

And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground

Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights

Aside from the refrains, the rest of the song is only OK, but the first minute of it is enough to make me totally love it. Until I hear it a squillion times!

Has run out on you and me

Wow! I've been meaning to post that one in the Favorite Lyrics thread for a few days now! Have you been reading my mind? Maybe that's why it's in your head. :D

I haven't been reading your mind...or have I?

I have to confess, I actually thought of you today when I was listening to this song. (I was driving my husband's car and listening to a CD that he had burned. So I listened to the song more than once.) Didn't you mention before that you knew a guy that used to be in The Ataris?

Yep. Derrick Plourde was their original drummer. I think he was on their original LP, then he went on to be in Lagwagon, Bad Astronaut, and a bunch of other band that would probably be known only to people familiar with the Santa Barbara/Goleta music scene. Derrick & his brother grew up with my older brothers. He died a month or so ago.

Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

So, if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This can be the end of everything
So why don't we go
Somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know?

I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?

Oh SIMPLE THING, where have you gone

So TELL ME WHEN you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

The instrumental version of 'That's What Uncle Remus Say'* from the Splash Mountain queue. I'm listening to random DL park tracks on my iPod and that one's sticking with me today.

*Please note that GC's song choice has everything to do with his love of the park and in no way advocates slavery. This post is also not a passive aggressive pointed commentary on Leo's Racism thread. It has more to do with the shuffle function on my iPod than anything else. Thank you and have a nice day. When in Southern California, stop by at Walt Disney's magic kingdom of Disneyland and help us celebrate Disneyland's 50th Birthday! Come and ride Tomorrowland's newest attraction Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters!

beat on the brat
beat on the brat
beat on the brat with a baseball bat
oh yeah, oh yeah, uh-oh

what can you do?
what can you do?
with a brat like that always on your back
what can you lose?

through corridors and factories
duh duh duh duh factory!
a psychadelic factory!

You'll find me in the matinee
the dark of the matinee
it's better in the matinee
the dark of the matinee.....

This song really burrows its way into your skull and won't leave! Even though I have the words all wrong...

I know a girl from a lonely street
Cold as ice cream but still as sweet
Dry your eyes Sunday girl

Hey I saw your guy with a different girl
Looks like he's in another world
Run and hide Sunday girl

Hurry up hurry up and wait
I stay away all week and still I wait
I got the blues
Please come see, what your lovin' means to me

Just finished working out and on shuffle play my mini disc player pulled up my two FAVORITE workout songs which are now stuck in my head - -but I don't mind!

Sing Sing Sing (by just about anyone, but on my disc it's Lee Presson)

and

Drunk Daddy (Cherry Poppin' Daddies.)

Yeah! I hear those and I just want to go for days. Except if I did I'd be really sore tomorrow.

I just saw Sugar Ray in concert last night at the House Of Blues. :) :snap: I've been such a huge fan of them forever now. Even of their early-day obscure harder stuff, which rocks! I've been singin' all of their stuff all day long!

There is a song that has been stuck in my head off and on for over 10 years -- ever since I saw it on Bombshelter Video back in high school. But alas, how would I ever find such an obscure song again?

Thanks to the magic of Google, I am now able to share with you, complete with video (warning!), Satan Lend me a Dollar (http://www.abelincolnstory.com/satanvideo.htm).
