I've been clubbing lately and now that I'm a bit older (ok a lot older) I'm a little out of the loop as to the hip places to go in the OC.

What I've been to:
Sutra - 8 Bucks for a beer! Cool place but darned expensive
Club Vegas - So NOT Vegas
Liquid Lounge - Eh, it's alright for now
Crazy Horse - Yuck
Pierce St. Annex - Love it but it's not swanky

Anyone live in the OC and have some suggestions??

I've never been to it, but they put flyers/postcards for the Shark Club on our car windows all the time (Costa Mesa, I think it's on Baker). I get the impression it's a young people's place, but never having been, I can't be sure.

I thought all the clubbing was going on in South Central...

Hmmm.. I know that Shark's Club used to be pretty hot, but I don't know anymore... There are a few good places to go in the OC, but I think it's a lot about just having good people around. I don't club down there much anymore, as I'm in Los Angeles, now, but I've had fun with the boys at the Boom Boom Room (Where if it's a sausage party, well then things are a success...). There are a few other places, but I don't know them well enough anymore to know what's cool or what's not down there. I'm sure someone on the LoT will know...

If ya like swing dancing, there's always Memories in Whittier, that place rules (is Whittier technically LA though?

The Boom Boom Room is in "THE OC" isn't it? We all gotta go there again sometime. :-D

Orange County sucks. Although I know nothing about clubbing, I still know that there are few places here to have a good time late at night.

Hmm... Orange County? I can give you a list of clubs NOT to go to... Haven't really found many I like. Still checking them all out.... I'll be back with an update in about, oh, a week.

theres Incahoots in fullerton, off Lemon and Orangefair, usually themed pretty heavily with the local radio stations

I personally like Cowboy country in Long Beach and country nights at Crazy Horse at the Spectrum are always fun, but that may just be me because I listen more heavily to country music...

Anyhow, i would probably say that up in Hollywood is the clubbing scene

If you're into Ska at all, you can't beat Chain Reaction in Anaheim. It's all ages, and as such the crowd skews a bit teen, but the vibe's pretty good and the music is usually good.

Haha! Believe it or not I spent Friday night in Hawthorne. LONG story!

Aint That True! I'm so not into the Hollywood scene although I'm sure it's way cooler than the OC but if you live in the OC you know that to go that far out of our "bubble" is just too much. Did it when I was much younger but now it's one of the few things I'd do.

OC rolls up the streets at like 130 now. Used to be a time when you could still get a drink at 2AM. No longer!!

Thanks everyone for the input! :D

Yes, the Orange County bubble!!!

Oh, that makes it make a little more sense.. I forgot all about it.

I'm spending more time in the OC, where I used to live, and I have felt.. well.. out of place. I'm settling back in again, but I was feeling so unsettled. It's so... different from Los Angeles.
