I can't go to Disneyland until Dec. 19. We normally go next week but no one can/wants to miss school/work.
Don't they keep the X-mas things going into January?
*sigh*
I may go and just keep the 'AP' mentality at home. We normally avoid crowded days at all costs. Rainy days, week days, those are our favorite.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

Of course, I have an opinion for you... I'd go ahead and go on December 19. I have a friend that calls days like that a "soak up" day. Just go, know that it's gonna be pretty crowded, don't expect to go on a lot of attractions, expect the crowds, but soak up the atmosphere. And keep the part of the AP mentality that says there's always next time.
Napsto and I did that a couple weeks ago.... we went on a Saturday and knew it was gonna be really crowded, but we really wanted to see the Christmas decorations, so we went anyway. We were only there for a few hours, saw everything we wanted to see, then went somewhere else to watch football.
Also, know that not *every* district has that week off, though most do. The district where I live will still be in school on the 19th.
But I'm with you usually....rainy weekdays are my favorite!

What MD said. Another aspect of the AP mentality to keep is Fastpass knowledge. A small amount of Fastpass planning goes a long way on those crowded days. Just take it slow, don't go with any expectations, and you'll have a good time. Oh, and if you end up anywhere near the hub for fireworks and want to head to the front of the park, just before the snow ends, head towards Coke Corner, they open up the back-stage walkway and you get to go right around the insane mob that's till mesmerized by soap.

I love to go on crowded days. There are always other things to see/do that you don't usually take the time for. And since you have the ap's and will go again it doesn't matter if the line for Peter Pan is too long. Maybe you haven't been on Snow White for years, try that instead. And as GD suggested fastpass is your friend.

Oh thank you guys for responding!!!
And a big HEY to you, MickeyD!!!!!
I think you are right. I will go and love every minute of it. Even if everyone else doesn't.
So, does anyone know if there are fast pass machines that aren't connected? Or maybe we'll just try and do the rides with anticipated lines first??
Thanks for the tip about leaving after the soap. I mean, snow. Ooo, I love real snow.
How about some floating candles in the ROA? I also love candles. :D
Does anyone meet on a regular basis? I am hoping to see Fantasmic! but I don't think I can get the gang to go early and sit on their butts for hours. My Boy has never seen it .
Thanks again you guys for responding. All of you. :p
I am so excited to go. It's been since July I think. I also want to go to the Character Wharehouse. {goodness, I had to make sure I didn't accidentally spell out some other type of house....} and I wanna eat a lot of schtuff. :D
We are also going to Knotts'. {notice how I am not really worried about their crowds?} Anyone been? I have heard the parade isn't too much to write home about but I still want to see it. Also, if we run out of things to do I think I might see the ice show. Is that pretty?
sorry for rambling....just had a nice big cup of coffee

Well, the Boy still hasn't seen Fantasmic!.
I woke up Monday with the flu. Not a overwhelming case but I've been to Disneyland sickly and it isn't much fun.
We really wanted to get away regardless. So, instead we went to Knott's. I hoped it wouldn't be over crowded.
We weren't disappointed. It was not crowded at all. We saw the shows we wanted to and rode what we wanted to. No rushing, no bumping. No angry pushy people. No mad strollers. {although at DTD that night we did experience that}.
The only crowds were if you got stuck behind some of the small school groups that were wandering about. Very few of those.
The Boy and his friend had medallions made from one of the craft vendors. Really cool, the man made them right there, 'striking' them on the spot.
We stayed at a Hilton property, Homewood Suites? It wasn't as bright at the Embassy Suites {I would say because the ES has the atrium and these had inside corridor entry} but other than that it was quite comparable. {just thought I'd toss that out in case anyone needed a new place}.
I still feel sickly. Blech. Have too much to do to be sick but all I want to do is crawl back into bed.
At Knott's, I was okay. The casual walking about and uncrowded shows {althougth WHY did the lady with the stinky hotdog covered with mustard and onions have to sit next to me in the Mystery Lodge??? It was so uncrowded, why why why??? And she sat rightupagainst me. Didn't move because my group had sat down first and I didn't want to move them.}
Well, thanks ya'll for the tips...we still may go before the decorations are taken down, if we have a chance.
