Anyone familiar with the various Phil Elv(e)rum incarnations? I'm going to see Mount Eerie tonight with Adrian Orange (Thanksgiving) and Woelv (she sings in French!).

I super excited, as these guys are phenomenal. It feels like stealing to be seeing them for $7. Only downside is that there is only an espresso bar. I may have to bring my own liquor. What goes well with coffee?

I think they'll be in LA in a few days. Catch them if you can. You can read this review (http://www.whatzup.com/Music/cd090105c.html) of the Dude, and get the free Seven New Songs here (http://www.archive.org/details/SevenNewSongsofMountEerie).

Bailey's. If they serve tea, brandy is good.

Sounds like a great show, have fun!

Kirschwasser is a traditional German additive (though I prefer it more as an accompaniment).

Sings in French you say? Well, that enough to get me to check out their downloads

Phil doesn't sing in French, but his wife, who sings under the name Woelv (and was making music before she was married to Phil) does. Here (http://mounteerie.trivialbeing.net/audio.php?view=liveatlum) is a link to a live set she did that is quite good.

With coffee: Jameson's whiskey, a teaspoon of sugar, a dash of nutmeg, whipped cream.

Heh, Chris found a virgin bottle of Kirschwasser in the garage.

I forgot to update this! The show was fantastic! Woelv was by far the best performer there. I bought her cd and it is so much better than the live stuff I downloaded. The entire thing was like watching bands practice in their garage. Adrian Orange was wearing pajama pants, Phil of Mount Eerie's pants were so dirty, and Woelv sang barefoot. It was a highly entertaining show to say the least.

Both people that were going with me bailed, so I didn't mix my coffee with anything, as drinking alone didn't have that much appeal.
