I heard this piece on NPR (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6796829) last night and thoiught it would be fun if "we" participated.

In December, commentator Brian McConnachie asked listeners to describe the distinctive voices of four well-known personalities: Morgan Freeman, Marilyn Monroe, Truman Capote and Patsy Cline. The results of that challenge are below.

Now, McConnachie is issuing a second "Vocal Impressions" challenge. How would you describe the voices of actor Jack Nicholson, singer Norah Jones and singer, actor and musician Cliff "Ukelele Ike" Edwards?

If you listen to the audio piece, you'll hear some the the submissions for the previous 4 personalities. They are all fantastic.

So, describe for us the voices of Jack Nicholson, Norah Jones and Cliff Edwards. And, please submit them to NPR as well!

Jack Nicholson's voice reminds me of a slice of extra sharp cheddar cheese - it's texture is smooth but there's an overtone of harshness that makes it really compelling.

Nora Jones - Caramel Flan melting in the warm sun

Jack Nicholson - sharkskin squeezed through a thin cake decorating tip

Cliff Edwards - taut fishing line dripping with maple syrup

I don't know why all of my descriptions have to be food related.
