AMC Theaters is offering an all day pass for $30 to see the best picture nominees. It isn't all of the theaters and I am having a hard time finding a link on their website.
Pass includes all you can eat popcorn and all you can drink soda.
6 movies for $30 with popcorn and soda. Not a bad deal at all.
What is the sixth movie?
I assume that this would be a special screening sequence at a theater so that they are played one after the other, otherwise you'd be unlikely to have the show times align such that you could see them all in one day.
Little Miss Sunshine is currently only playing one Bay Area theater (a second run one) so no AMC in this area could offer the opportunity to see all five nominees as part of its regular announced scheduling.

This is something I would be interested in if there was more information.

I heard a blurb about it on the news before I went to bed. I checked the AMC site and couldn't find anything. I'll look again if I have time on my lunch.
Took some looking but I found a news story on it.
It will be all five (not six) nominated movies, played in sequence in a single auditorium. It will be February 24th at 78 selected AMC/Loews theaters.
It will be $30 and comes with a large popcorn and large soda with unlimited refills. You'll also receive a special 3-D lanyard pass that will allow you to come and go as you please (so that, if for some reason you do'nt want to just eat 5 lbs of movie theater popcorn you can skip one movie and go have lunch or dinner).
Just FYI but the total running time for the five nominations is: 631 minutes (10 hours, 31 minutes). So add whatever gap will be in between movies for pee-breaks and you have a very long day at the movies.
I've already seen 3 of the 5 nominees and will have seen at least one more by the time 2/24 rolls around, so I'll probably pass.

Ahhh, one day only. We're seeing the Oscar Shorts that day. I'll just have to see the noms I actually want to see on my own.
Thanks, Alex.

Thank you Alex. I must have transposed my 5 and 6 with them saying it works out to $6 a movie for 5 movies.

Thanks for the info!
I told the Son and he and his girlfriend are going to see if they can swing the date.
Can we find out which theaters it will be happening at?
The only mention of it I've found so far is a story in the Bridgewater (New Jersey) Courier-News mentioning that a nearby theater in New Brunswick, New Jersey, will be one of the theaters.
Neither Google News nor Google find any other mentions and if there is a press release out there I haven't found it.

I saw the story on the NBC 11pm news but all they said was select AMC theaters. Since it was on NBC I am guessing there is one in SoCal. But I can't find anything on their website.

Alex, yeah, I found the same thing. I assume there will be one here, but I'll be out of town. I probably wouldn't go (since it's a 10 and a half hour stint), but I was curious...

Well, I've already seen all the Best Picture nominees. (I want those two hours of Babel torture back, btw).
Nope, it's the acting noms that I need to catch up on. I don't suppose ....
