Hehehehehehehehehe - Individual portion packs - 150 of 'em !! :D
I'll be giving lessons on how to eat it correctly too.
It's like Rose Nyland's Spöerhöeven Krispies - if eaten correctly they taste GREAT !

You'd better be carefull, I'm not sure what the boys in Homeland Security might do if they encounter such things in your luggage - better find someone to be a carrier

Personally I'm not in favor of food that requires lessons. I understand Hawaiians love poi but I'm not going near that either.
:p

That $hit is pretty awful.
Nothing wrong with poi. It's just Elmer's glue with less flavor.

Lashbear, what's the difference between Marmite and Vegemite?

I bet Vegemite isn't too bad if you spread it really thin and then cover it up with a thick layer of Nutella or something . . . and then just lick the top half of the Nutella layer and throw away the rest.

Hey, I've had Vegemite, and, well, I didn't exactly hate it. I remember thinking that, with effort, I could acquire a taste for it.
Hey don't pick on the delicacy! That stuff even traveled half way around the world to visit Dexter when he was in the land of sand....I'm just sad Missy and I will be missing the lesson.

You know, chocolate might work in that scenario as well. Hmmm....

Guess I'll have to research the Marmite vs. Vegemite info...According to Wikipedia, they're more or less the same thing, just different brands and slightly different recipes. Vegemite's supposed to be a little sweeter. Marmite was first and from Britain, Vegemite was invented in 1923 in Australia when war (Wikipedia didn't say which war exactly, but I'm assuming it means lingering effects of WWI) made it harder to get Marmite.

I tried Vegemite once. I couldn't get that crap outta my mouth, even with trying to chase it with a bucket of liquid. I ended up dry-heaving over the sink for a half hour, while my friend stood by and laughed. So, I'll pass. Sorry Lash. ;)

At the '96 WorldCon there was a party hosted by Aussie fandom. My friend Nick (who's from Australia) and I amused ourselves by standing by the food table - watching the reactions of clueless Americans trying Vegemite for the first time.
