good, im home for/from work today (thread to come in a few) - we did our valentines day this weekend....

drove up to Los Olives/Solvang area for some wine tasting and some food on Saturday, picked up 8 bottles of wine for us, and 1 for a gift. Also got a sweatshirt for Erin and a shirt for me from one of our favorite wineries up there, www.epiphanycellars.com - Fess Parker's sons winery.

On sunday did some shopping around, Target, Old Navy, Laguna Hills mall... picked up some new digs for both of us.... then went to Wine tasting at the Golden Vines Winery at DCA, adn dinner at the Vineyard Room ($cha-ching$)

Overall, not too bad of a valentines weekend :)

(i think tonight were going to kick back, have dinner, watch a movie and enjoy a bottle of wine we just bought)

I received a large stuffed moose that my husband informs me is named "Norbert." Quite a dilemma, as I always give things "H" names. Herbert, Horatio, Horace, Hieronymus, etc. Of course, in Cyrillic the N is written as H, so maybe that's okay.

My VD status?

So far, still working on waking up. I got a great valentine from Samwise, the Girl's cat, and a lovely one from her and Eric as well. Last night, he brought me a dozen red roses, and Tori a dozen peach ones. We got Grandma two flower arrangements and some candy. Oh, and Eric got me the Beatles Anthology cd's! (I recently broke down and had a cd player installed in my car- how did I live without it?)

Amen, Sister! Your'e singing to the choir!

Cranky unswanky post ahead: :(

I'm so sarcastically happy I went and bought a Valentine's day sexy sheer back, silver & iridescent sequined camisole. And an alternate sheer red & satin ruffled one. With matching silver sequined ballet flats And oohlala red Lip Lingerie lipstick. And Tarte lipgloss.

My Valentine is sick & pulling a houdini through no fault of his own. I'm bitter & alone and feeling sorry for myself, which is an attribute I LOATHE, unless it's a holiday or birthday and then I'm in full "poor me" mode.

So, in shades of my Birthday, I'm sure I'll still be in baggy, forgiving sweats eating my own weight in candy and cursing cupid's special day. Hallmark moment my ass.

We started off the day at 2:00 with my daughter in the emergency room because of a spider bite - or at least that's what we are guessing was hiding in her roller blades and stung her foot twice! She started complaining last night about her leg hurting but it'd been awhile since she'd skated so much and it seemed like it might just be a pulled muscle. Then her other leg and both knees... then her chest... but could breathe just fine. But cried and cried and just couldn't get to sleep for more then a few minutes at a time. Called the nurse and was told to go to ER.

So as I jolted my daughter and I out of the house, I told my sleeping husband what was up and to take the boy to daycare and go to work and I'd call him. I set out VD cards and out the door we went.

In the ER, when the dr finally comes in he says to her "so... you didn't want to go to school today huh?" NO. It's a day off at her school as a matter of fact - Mr-you-who-thinks-you-know-so-much. He looks her over in about 30 seconds and says that he doesn't think there's anything wrong but just to be sure, she should take this and that.

Call my husband and turns out he can come home from work so as he walks in the door with his card in hand, he hands me one and out the door I go. Worked all day. Waiting for our elegant bagel pizzas to be done and then I'm totally off to bed.

She currently has a stinging sensation at site of bite that worsens when she stands. And what may be hives on her shoulders. Fun. Good thing we've got some benedryl and stuff.

Just wrapping up Valentines day and looking forward to Valentines night.

My son and I laid out a formal dinner for the girls. We used the fancy eating china and served Cornish Game Hens, White asparagus, and chilled white wine. For presents, my daughter sat for a framed charcoal sketch, my son is taking her out for a concert (Canadian brass) and I went with a sapphire necklace.

It should be a good night. ;)

LMFAO, GD. (I actually used your real name, which I'm not sure you've done here or not. I'm rather bad about dropping name bombs, having dropped my own so many times. Sorry.)

I think romantic gestures like this are so damn sweet, but if I came home to such a beautiful table, I'd break out in nervous hives.

Addressed to my future boyfriend, should we ever be together on Valentine's Day, let it be known that I expect nothing from you. But should you feel the urge to do *something*, a used book, a pint of Guinness, or Trader Joe's flowers would do just nicely. Anything as elaborate and fantastic as Moonie's tribute would just about paralyze me with fear.

But kudos, M dude, that's quite lovely and thoughtful.

Again, Greg, LMFAO.

I think that's awesome Moonliner. I sort of miss being able to do that gushy romantic stuff with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day. Ah well, I had many many years of such romance.

Now that I've got a boyfriend, it's not quite the same thing - or so it seems to me. But we had really hot mansex on Saturday night, spent a swankified night at the Park with some swankers on Sunday, and I got to spend all day at work today setting up, throwing, and tearing down a big Valentine's Day office party.

Not a bad VD.

Hmmmm VD...

Well, my day was spent at my son's school. Passing out the homemade valentine's and watermelon slices that I cut into lovely little hearts to a group of lovely preschoolers... Not bad, had fun.

Then my evening..... well.... I think contracting VD would have been more fun than the horrible attempt at picking up dinner turned out to be. Apearantly if you order food to go from the Olive Garden on Valentine's night you will be waiting for 2 plus hours. No that is not a typo. My son told me yeah Olive Garden, fettucine please!!... we said sure, we'll call and pick it up. They told us to pick it up in an hour. Okay. Went to Target got my son Shark Tale... Bought the significant other Half-Life 2... good times. Drive to Olive Garden, wade through the sea of folks waiting to get a table then spend the next HOUR waiting to get food that was ordered two hours before. We finally gave up and ended up picking him up a happy meal. I was so mad. We seriously thought they were mocking us at OG. "look those people look hungry.. why don't we let 'em watch other people eat for a while and see how long it takes till we break their spirits." Jerks. I hate Valentine's day.

While I think that Moonliner's table can rival any professionals table setting (and those gifts/plans!) :snap: I would certainly be convinced that my family has somehow been abducted by aliens or has been threatened by the mafia if I came home to find that set up. Either that or they set something on fire, broke my laptop, or blew up my camcorder, digital camera and/ or video games.

Tritip, salad, asparagus - the tail end of the Westminster Dog Show, followed by the first half of Last Tango in Paris, interupted by long talks of Sartre and the evolution of sexuality, and ending in the bedroom - smiling, oblivious, giddy.

Started early...ran around madly getting the house back in order since my husband is coming home after being gone for a week...

Made 4 batches of brownies, which I then cut into heart shapes and dusted with powder sugar for Bailey and Kat's class parties...

Gave Hubby his valentine when he came home! ;) It was cheap!

He got me an MP3 - not an Ipod...but then again...I'm just not Ipod worthy! (seriously, I wouldn't do it justice!)

Oh...and the new Motley Crue CD! He rocks!

Went to school, played Valentine bingo with 28 4th graders who were hyped up on ice cream sundaes and candy...

After school, we went to do our taxes! It's always nice to get that check back from Uncle Sam! This year was really really nice!!!!!

Dropped off stupid stupid computer at Geeks.com at Best Buy....we had some nasty spy ware our Anti-Spy ware software didn't catch...it was totally blocking the internet connection....sooooooo $150 later...it'll be fine!

Dinner was at El Taco Tote...it was Buy a Taco and a Drink, Get a Taco free....Bailey and I had fish tacos (yum!)

Home...fell asleep on the couch...totally missed both Westminister and the freakin Texas Tech Basketball game.....It would have been the only one we've been able to watch broadcast this year....and wouldn't you know it....They freakin won! Beatin Number 2 Kansas...Double OT....and I was ASLEEP!!! Arggghh!!!

I had a good Valentines night. :)
Now that I've got a boyfriend, it's not quite the same thing - or so it seems to me. Hmm, never thought of that before. Are gay couples less romantic? Or just gay couples that include bi members? Perhaps they just dote on each other in different ways? You two are so cute together I'm kinda surprised at the distinction.

Oh darn me for not logging in sooner!! Hehehe...

My Valentine's Day was fairly uneventful.

I went to work, went home for a bit, met up with Steve, rushed to school, called Zap, went to class, promptly logged into LoT, sat with tears in my eyes as I was lulled into some sleepy hatred, took a break, IMed with NA, Euro (Still don't know the PC way to make that symbol, anyone care to help me out?), Zap, BTD & GD intermittently throughout the class, tried to call Steve, didn't get an answer, drank some coffee, drank some water, went to the bathroom, lather, rinse, repeat.

I was hungry after class, so right as I was about to head home to my grandma's, I decided to hit up a 24-hour diner. Ate, sat around drinking hot tea, and wrote and read.

Then I went home and passed out.

I love all of your posts! Happy Belated Valentine's Day, guys! :)

I, too, watched part of the Westminster Dog Show! I was so excited about seeing it, and then forgot it was on! :(

Okay, so it was not the Valentine's Day I had planned. I may have not gotten a night straight out of a Nicholas Spark's novel, but when I finally stopped acting like a self-absorbed doink, I actually had a nice evening! :)

I spent it with my loves, my Grandma & Little Bo Peep (my Labrador Retriever). I really wanted to see my Grandma on Valentine's day, since it is her first Valentine's Day without my Grandpa. :( Having never been alone, I can't imagine the loneliness she must be feeling. So, we sipped hot tea and chatted for hours and had a blast together, keeping each others minds busy! :coffee:
