View Full Version : Dark... circles...

I've already accepted that I'll always have dark circles under my eyes. After all, it's pretty difficult to go through almost 30 years of existence and deny something that stares back at you in the mirror (though I do know a few people who try to deny things... that's another story).

Ever since I was a wee little one, I've had seemingly hereditary dark circles under my eyes. While it disguised itself on that side of the family and is only noticeable when someone looks closely due to the shape of their eyes, it's a big deal, but not too big of one. The shape of my eyes and cheekbones, however lends for my dark circles to be out in full glory. And I'm tired. I want something that really works. Sleep doesn't fix it, and neither do allergy meds. I can cover it up, but frankly, they look like dark circles covered up.

I'm tired of having people think I don't get enough sleep, people thinking I'm tired, or worse - people wondering if I'm using drugs. (During my recent weight loss, the dark circles were a big issue with my family - who know dark circles runs in my father's side of the family!)

I digress..

Ladies, gentlemen... are there actual products that actually work to help this kind of situation out?

I have an eye cream that's supposed to have "brighteners" whatever that means. But I never remember to use anything consistently enough to know if it works. I'm just a sucker for buying the stuff.

Go to the Benefit counter at Sephora and ask for a sample of EyeCon. Use it for a bit and see if it helps. Benefit has lots of great "fake its/fix its" in their line.

I second the Benefit recommendation. I use Lemon-Aid on my eyelids.

Hmmm... too bad I don't have a Sephora. I may have to try and hit one in NYC when I'm down this weekend.

I know they carry Benefit at Marshall Fields as well as a couple of other major department stores (but not at Nordstroms). I don't know which stores are in Albany.

Macy's usually has it.

So, BeneFit is it?

Macy's usually has it.But will they give me a free sample? That's the only higher end department store we have around here anymore. Macy's swallowed the others up. No Nordstorms or Lord & Taylor.
