yeah-fun.

Been in pain alot at work- the best they would do for me is send the office manager over to "adjust" my keyboard. What a joke.

I finally could not take it anymore so I had my manage check out workmans comp- she had me set an appt with my Dr and sure nuff I have carpal tunnel.

I am going on anti-inflammatory meds, getting wrist guards for night (how sexy is that?) and he has written a letter telling them they need to get my set up at work changed. By someone who does it for a living thanks- not some chick whose best advice was to spend money on a chiropractor since we had to all have matching chairs.

Oh I about came unhinged. I said I found it hard to believe that someone would be forced to sit there in pain so that the office chairs all matched.

I don't think so.

So- whee fun fun. I also have some muscle loss in my hand from the nerve damage.

Anyone else have this, or have experience with it?

Yup. Bilateral. Unfortunately, despite my physical therapist saying I had a long way to go, the state decided I was cured and closed my case file. And because it's such a problem around here, you can't get treatment for it unless you have an active L&I claim - there just aren't enough therapists to go around. So, now I mostly just cope as much as I can. The biggest issue is that I can no longer write long-hand for extended periods of time. I can make a grocery list and such, but I can't take class notes because my hands cramp up - so now I type even more.

I've had twinges of it in the past. No official diagnosis, but the signs have cropped up. I wear the wrist brace most nights - even when I am not feeling it.

Trust me when I say the sexy level is nowhere NEAR a C-PAP mask.

Kevy - you're on CPAP too ? Dang!! I'm going to have to make sure they put bromide in the corn dogs or you're in trouble when I meet you !!

PS: for Gus Gus and Lashstoat's sake... Just Kidding...

I wonder just how many people on here have the wrist guards?

Depends on how many of us are cancer free.

Its all in the wrists...

Carpal Tunnell affects 1 in 100 men.
Sadly 1% of those polled lied.

Wrist braces? Check
C-Pap? Check

Getting ready for bed resembles suiting up for battle.

No- but playing on my DS Lite does. So I wear the brace for that too.

*sigh*

So this desk set up is horrible. I am trying to sit up straight and type lower like the Dr recommended and I feel lousy- shoulders hurt....whimper.

My manager has escalated it to the next step- but we are waiting to see what that step is.

Sorry to hear it, Nephythys.

My BIL is a professional jazz bass player. He's got carpal tunnel and sleeps with rulers taped to the underside of his forearms so that the end of each ruler rests in a palm. It's to keep him from curling up his fingers.

He also does Reiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reiki), says it helps a lot.

I got a ganglion cyst from playing too much MMORPG. ie. shadowbane/world-of-warcraft.

At work I just ruin my eyes for a paycheck. :coffee:
