Wow that is sad. I rode in a couple similiar parades when I was younger. I was nervous the whole time. Horses can spook at the littles things and there is so much going on. And pavement is slippery on their shoes which doesn't help.

So sad. The poor family.

How awful. I just hate horses, don't get them at all. The two experiences I had as a child with horses were terrifying and painful (the thing walked me right through tree branches, on purpose).
