I'm getting ready to work on my demo reel for event videography. I’m going to categorize the shots into categories: fun, romance, laughter, tears, etc.

And, in between each category, I want to have a black screen with white lettering that slides across while fading in/out.

Here are the options I’m thinking, let me know which works best (vote in the poll, please):

1) Imagine the Laughter/Imagine the Romance/etc.
2) Picture the Laughter/Picture the Romance/etc.
3) See the Laughter/See the Romance/etc.
4) Capture the Laughter/Capture the Romance/etc.
5) Remember the Laughter/Remember the Romance
6) Combo – Capture the Romance/Remember the Laughter/Imagine the Tears/etc.

Also, if you have any other ideas/opinions for this, please shout 'em out! :D

I feel like filming an event is very much about capturing it.

"Imagining" and "picturing" are both about an event in the future. (And although they'll be signing up for an event that's in the future, you're not imagining it for them.)

"See" gets closer, but it's not as expressive a word. The same goes for "Remember."

Picture, if you will, a glowing fairy box where all of the extraordinary moments of a special day can be plucked and saved. That's your DVD. You're capturing their laughter, their romance, their tears.

Oh, ****. I think that my year in advertising has affected the way I think.

Remember the Candy!LOL!! :D

I also plan to wrap the video with the end title, "(insert word choice) You". So, think of that too - "Capture You", "Remember You", "Relive You".

I want to end it on a personal note, so they will envision themselves in what they just viewed. :)

My goal is to provoke as much emotion as possible, so they'll forget the competition. ;)

As much as the word makes me gag (I'm definitely not in the target demographic for wedding stuff), but Remember or Cherish sound best to me.

Or Oversentimentalize? Pathologically Fetishize? Whoops, sorry, slipped into my dream world again. And I like "<insert word choice> you" at the end.

The same Picture, if you will, a glowing fairy box where all of the extraordinary moments of a special day can be plucked and saved.Oh, fudge. You've totally stumbled upon something HUGE! While I'm currently working under Paul Manke Photography, I still am trying to develop my own company name for in the future. So far, I've got *** (which is derived off my maiden initials - suggested by my father). But, I just checked into "Fairy Box Productions", and it's surprisingly not used. And, the domain is available too. I can have Fairy Box Productions be the event videography division of ***. LSPE - you're BRILLIANT!!!! :snap:Crap, I can even envision the logo already too.

As much as the word makes me gag (I'm definitely not in the target demographic for wedding stuff), but Remember or Cherish sound best to me.Ok, if I provoked enough emotion in Alex to get him to at least suggest something, I think I'm on the right track for sure! ;) :p

Capture, definitely. Except I don't like "Capture you" at the end. Sounds too creepy. I'd end it with something like "Capture your memories" instead.

Well, I love the words "Capture" and "Relive".

So, I figured why not try both?

So, the transitional titles would read, "Capture the moment. Relive the magic.", "Capture the laughter. Relive the fun.", "Capture the love. Relive the romance.", and so forth. Each sentence would fade in and then out, followed by the second sentence. (Or, possibly have them "slide" in from opposite sides of the screen - haven't decided which yet.)

So, seeing as I also really like Fairy Box Productions, and that I purchased the domain already, I figured I'd toy with a logo as well:

Or, do you like this one better?

How about "Relive the agony?"

I like "picture" because that's what you're doing taking moving pictures. It plays on two levels. Picture it in your head and I'm taking pictures.

"Capture" sounds too much like "capture the fort" or "capture the flag" kinda combative.

"Remember" reminds me of Julie Andrews.

I don't like "imagine" because you don't have to use your imagination if someone is taking a recording of something.

"See" makes me think of "see the two headed monkey and the bearded lady" or "see France".

I like "relive".

"Capture the moment. Relive the magic." I like the way that sounds. I'll vote for it. I don't know which logo I like better, I guess the top one.

Another possibility would be to leave the verbs out of it. "The laughter... the tears..." The last one one would have to be something more substantial, like a sentence (a phrase, at least) that would tie them together: "We will capture them for you." Or "bring them home for you." Those aren't really right, but you get the idea. I don't suppose your company has a slogan yet?

I don't suppose your company has a slogan yet?Nope, because the company doesn't exactly exist yet either. ;) So, this is completely flexible to input and changes. :)

I like the concept of Capture and Relive. It both explains what it is you do and it gives the client a clear reason to want to hire you. Capture does make me think of Tink, though.

I like the concept of Capture and Relive. It both explains what it is you do and it gives the client a clear reason to want to hire you.[quote] That's why I like "Relive" instead of "Remember", because people can remember things on their own. But, to relive it, they need to see it/experience it again, and that's what video does. ;)

[quote]Capture does make me think of Tink, though.Exactly why I like it in conjunction with Fairy Box Productions. It just..... works. Plus, girls (read: brides) usually love fairies. It gives it a bit of girly connection to childhood dreams. :)

I'm hesitant to vote, though I like Tom's idea of removing the verbs entirely. It's probably understood that this is something they'll want to remember, something you've captured. Hopefully, they're already imagining the romance and laughter, even though they might not have as much time for that during the often stressful "event."

If there are verbs to be used, perhaps the combo - if any, I'm partial to remember, despite my previous dismissal.

I love the company name, and while I favor the fuzzy logo, I wonder if there's more potential with the sharp logo - perhaps tweaking with the image a bit so that it can appear to be more than one thing at a time, indicating both the imagination and versatility of Fairy Box Productions.
