Well i know CM didn't do it on purpose but still i'm pretty upset at the moment. Last nite he had his monitor on the dining room table working on his computer etc. Well we went to bed and i hear the cats in the closet some sort of commotion but not feeling well i go to sleep. This morning i get up walk the dogs, come back and start feeding everyone (animals that is) and lo and behold the hamster's cage is door is open the computer monitor is right next to the cage and the door. So as of now i can not find the hamster at all and i am pretty pissed off right now to say the least. CM if you read this you owe me one hamster seriously and please help me i am not feeling well and i'm leaving in two days i don't need extra work to do before i leave.

Well so far no luck finding her at all. I put her cage down on the floor in the hallway and i put a line of treats down as well maybe she'll come out and grab one while i'm watching and waiting. The cats have given up at the moment of trying to find her (i bet she's somewhere sleeping) praying she is and that she will come out or make noise when it gets dark outside. She does know my voice and i keep on calling her but so far no luck. :( Just one of those things i guess.

She should be ok. They like to hide behind stuff in tight areas. The only thing you need to worry about blocking off is the area behind the fridge - the heat can get pretty bad back there.

And, seeing as they're nocturnal, she probably won't surface until tonight. You did the best thing by putting her cage on the floor with treats. She'll know where the food is.

and if she won't go into the cage- try a live animal trap with her fave treats.

And I was here to witness this momentous occasion: the new comp, and CM getting another lease on life.

So, where was the little runaway?

The hamster was in our middle room closet - Johnny did a wonderful job of standing guard all day, and let us know exactly where to find her.

Johnny got treats, and a dish of milk - although he looked at us like "Just gimme the hamster, and I'm cool"

Yes Jonny kitty is the best. This is his second time he's alerted me to her (she got out once before). So he's the wonder kitty of kitties. :)

Hollywog did that shortly after we got her. She fell off the chair when I was cleaning their cage. It took us at least 20 minutes to get her to come out from behind the computer desk. Even bribes didn't work (Thudder kept taking the treat from me when I wasn't paying attention).

How did she get out? I know hamsters are like rats, if they can get their head through an opening they can get their body through it too.

Accidently got out thanks to CM having a computer monitor too close to the cage door and must have accidently opened it without realizing it while working on his computer. But all is good now happy ending...she did take her treats too while i was able to pick her up in the closet. :)
