So Madzer wants to go to Nashville this summer for vacation. All part of her master plan to become a famous country singer I'm sure.

Anyone been? What's worth it/what's not?

I'm looking at possible doing an Opryland Hotel package that includes a night at the Grand Ole Opry, tour of the Ryman and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Plus some resturant meals etc. The Opry is only Friday and Saturday nights so we'll have to go over a weekend.

Anything else we must see/do while we're there?

Her last obsession which was going to Madison Wisconsin. Because her name is Madison. We looked into it when she was still interested and she was amazed that some hotels had indoor pools. Kids

Branson, Missouri would be a better stop for an aspiring country star - and they still have a nice amusement park nearby.

Check out www.wsix.com. They are Nashville's local country station and are always giving away tickets to country concerts out there.

Well, I work with a Nashville native through the cubical wall.
I told her about your plans, and such.
Off the top of her head, she said that Centenial Park was beautiful, and had a replica of the parthenon.

That there were a great many parks with horseback riding,
And that the Hermitage, the home of Andrew Jackson was nearby and had tours.

She's going to think on it some more... but did say that if history was at all interesting, there was tons more to see.

I've been to the Opryland hotel twice in the last 20 years. Had a good time both times. Unfortunately, the two attractions that I enjoyed most when I first went are now gone, Johnny Cash's "House of Cash" and Conway Twitty's "Twitty City," both in Hendersonville.

I'm sure the trip will be fantastic.

Ok we're booked. June 21-25th. We'll have a rental car so we can explore. I've got Opry tickets for the 22nd. Should be a lot of fun.

Thank you!

I'll do my very best to snag him for you. He's kind of scrawney I'm sure I can jam him in a suitcase.

Might as well throw in Randy Travis while you're at it.

He's a lot larger, I'll need bigger luggage.
