It's time for me to buy some new skincare stuff. I'm reaching the end of most of my current products, and I'm thinking I might like to try some new stuff. I need products that will help my slightly oily and occassionally acne-prone skin, without freaking it out too much (it's slightly sensitive as well). any recommendations would be most welcome:)

I realize how bad I am with skincare when I approach these threads!
Currently, I use Oil of Olay Age Defying Daily Renewal Cleanser, Avon Anew Deep Crease Concentrate with Bo-Hylurox and Avon Anew Clinical 2 Step Facial Peel, and Oil of Olay Total Effects 7 Signs Serum.
I decided I was worried abour wrinkles, because I have two. I just fly by the seat of my pants here. I wish someone would give me a solution I could use for the next 10 years. I don't know if I'm doing the right thing. I have decent genes to start with so I don't really have "issues" to combat - other than being mid 40's - and even then, I am told I don't look it enough to actually believe it.

I've been using Mary Kay stuff lately, and I LOVE it.

I've been using Mary Kay stuff lately, and I LOVE it.
I used Mary Kay stuff a few years back and it was pretty good.
Edit: I should say what I'm currently using, I guess. Origins Get Down cleanser, Origins Toner, various moisturisers, depending on my mood (mostly oil free - Origins - whatasurprise! , Lancome and Urban Decay), Origins eye stuff. I've got a couple of Origins scrubs/masks too.

I love Philosophy's Purity cleanser and I SWEAR by their microdermabrasion (once a week treatment)The Great One. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the affect. I'm on the lookout for a moisturizer that I love so far nothing. I have oily acne prone skin too it sucks.
I'm almost out of cleanser, I want to try Benefit's Zapparella line when I'm out. I use the Boo Boo Zapp and that stuff is AWESOME!! Another one I swear by!(and those are the ONLY two products that I swear by :) ) I'm hoping that their cleanser and concealer is as good. Let me know if you find a great moisturizer.

Let me know if you find a great moisturizer.
Ooh! Moisturizer!! I'm obsessed with moisturizing! :)
We just splurged and ordered two jars of Creme La Mer! I also purchased their eye balm & face serum. Me + the 30's = desperation moisturization!
My Grandma & I decided to give it a try!! I've been wanting to try this miracle cream for ages now. I sure hope we love it and it's every bit as amazing as I've heard. :)
Here's hopin'! Cross them snappin' fingers! --> :snap:

Oooh! I was really hoping someone here used CDLM! We got a Creme de la Mer counter here a couple of years back, but I haven't purchased anything yet. It's such a big investment. But I hear their stuff is amazing. It's kind of legendary.
Ally, please post a review when you've tried it - I'm dying to know!:birdy:
Grrrrr. Today the skin around my eyes is all puffy and kind of sensitive and itchy. I really need something for it. Not to mention that my skin is all excited and hormonal ~ it's the only bit of me I don't like feeling 17!:(

Anyone who has seen MY skin knows I should offer no skincare advice. Obviously am in NEED of advice. Proactiv is weird cause it'll work...work really well...then it stops working. Then it works again. Then...not.
Bah. BAH!!!! I would skin all of my friends alive for clear, perfect skin. I'd skin you ALL!
Heh.
I hear love beautifies. BAH!

If I were a boy and someone said Creme de la Mer I would be thinking nasty thoughts about Arial. It's nice to know I'm an upstanding female.;)

HOLY COW! ACK! Thank you, NA, for now when I apply my decadent cream, thoughts of an excited, secreting fin will be filling my thoughts. (Even more so then it already does. Damn that sexy Ariel!)

The best moisturizer I've found is called "Moisturel." You get it at the regular ol' drugstore, but it can be hard to find. (Both to find a store that carries it, and to find it on the shelf because it's not part of a larger product line and thus has a very small shelfprint.) I have tried all kinds of fancy, expensive, good for sensitive and/or breakout-prone skin moisturizer and it all makes my face erupt. Moisturel appears to actually moisturize, doesn't inflame my skin, and disappears into my skin (doesn't sit all greasy on the surface.)

Oh, dsnylndmom!! I'm dying! And Not Afraid, you deserved that mojo bigtime! You had me on the FLOOR!! You made my night! LMAO!! :D :snap:
Now I'm feeling so guilty! :( My biggest weakness is anything that promises me healthy looking & clear skin! Maybe I'm the skincare industry's biggest tool. A sucker swathed in Creme la Mer, or Ariel joy juice (ACK). I'm always afraid people will think I'm insane (which I am, but I'd rather be thought so for non-monetary reasons.) :D
Anyhoo, I hear you ladies on the subject of problem skin. I have oily, greasy, dry, combination, sensitive break-outty skin. And I've found these following products I use work best for blemishes!
Damn those Breakouts!
*Mario Badescu Drying Lotion~ I slip into bed with a face covered in pink polka dots. But By George, it works!
*Mario Badescu Drying Cream~ It camoflauges & heals! Good stuff!
*Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion~ For those blemishes that resemble the Matterhorn. If the Matterhorn was beet red & unsightly. YUCK. Thank you, menses, for giving me the Matterhorn Jr. on my chin. And cheek. :(
*Kiehl's Blue Herbal Spot Treatment~ It's clear & comes in a purse-friendly tube!
A fantastic cleanser is Fresh's Umbrian Clay! A little pricey, but I use it as a spot treatment, mask & cleanser, so I totally get my $'s worth! The multi tasking treatment.
And for wrinkles? I can't live without Freeze 24/7! This, too, is a bit steep at $100 an ounce, but WORTH EVERY CENT. It freezes my wrinkles & crinkles. Abracabotox! Brilliant!
Damn! I'm letting spending secrets out again. :( Please forgive me. I promise I'll share. :)
And my skin's best friend is Neutrogena. The best stuff can be found in the Drugstore. Neutrogena's Light Night Cream is just as necessary to a good night's sleep as my pillow. :)

Not only does love make you fat... well...
Let's just say that skin-clearing can depend on the kind of lovin'. And what kind of lovin' comes near those pores.

Those stupid infomercials for Proactiv are always on and I'm thisclose to trying it. I get major PMS breakouts. I switch products often because I'm still looking for the perfect one. The one that works the best for me is plain old Purpose soap.

I wish I could find something for me....
Proactiv uses benzoyl peroxide which I have found makes me break out in little red bumps... Ugh... not the look I was going for.....
I too am a sucker for skin care stuff..... I wish I could find my perfect product....

Hmmmmm...I checked out Clinique's new Super Defence moisturiser this weekend (I was at the counter picking up mascara and a new lipgloss/stick thing I really didn't need but it was a pretty colour...anyway, I digress)...the assistant tried it on me and it felt nice. Alas, they were out of samples for my skintype. It's tempting though - moisturiser and sunscreen in one....
