An online review of a test screening of The Simpsons movie was posted on Friday and in the article the writer mentions Fox is in negotiations with 7-11 to temporarily transform a couple of it's stores into Kwik-E-Marts to promote the film.

And what summer blockbuster would be without a big sickening summer promotion. Right now, 7-11 and Fox are working on a deal (http://www.timesdispatch.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=RTD%2FMGArticle%2FRTD_BasicArti cle&c=MGArticle&cid=1173350362478&path=%21business&s=1045855934855) to transform 11 of 4,700 stores across the U.S. to resemble the front of the Kwik-E-Marts selling some of Homer Simpson's favorite snacks. Inside every 7-11 will be a bonanza of Simpsons characters hawking the food. And all 7-11 customers will be able to buy products inspired by the show, including KrustyO's cereal, Buzz Cola, and iced Squishees (the cup will say Squishee, but the contents will be Slurpee).
Even if the film sucks this particular promotion would be awesome! I hope there will be more than just 11 of them.

Makes me so mad that my area doesn't even have a 7-Eleven!

The closest one I've seen is in Ottawa...and I don't really feel like driving an hour and a half just to get an authentic grape Squishee.

Hmm. At first glance, I thought this thread was going to be an April Fools prank, but once I saw it was a marketing thing, well, anything goes in that world.

I can't help but think that this movie is about a decade past its shelf date. I'm enough of a fan that I'll go anyway.

I have little hope for the movie, but this promotion actually sounds great.

Will the Krusty-O's come with a free Jagged Metal Krusty-O? "Oh boy, this thing is shredding my insides!" "Er, Krusty, that wasn't the metal one, that was a regular Krusty-O." "It's poison" :D

They could at least give one of those metal Krusty-O's to every twentieth customer. :D

There are places in Portland where you can stand in the Parking lot of one(7-11) and look both ways down the street and see two more:eek:

Here too. Even worse, really. There is one place(Tigard, Oregon) where there is two Starbucks within 80' of each other--across a divided hwy from one another........I'd love to be able to give directions to someone to either of those stores: "yes, right across the st from Starbucks.(no, I want directions to the starbucks). Yes, we are right across the from them":)
