We all still get them. The secret crush. Maybe a stranger. Possibly someone you know. They can be fleeting. Or longer. But aren't they great?

I have a crush on a close friend's brother. That alone wouldn't be too bad, but he shares the same feelings towards me. It is one of those situations where I can feel a charge of attaction when we are together. Luckily for my marriage we are not together very often. ;)

While I have no second wives, there are certainly women here I admire and find attractive. I've certainly flirted with a few of you.
But, I think I'd rather go "continental" taking mistresses or lovers instead of other wives, who show up after I'm dead, standing by my gravesite, veiled and dressed in black - exchanging knowing glances.

I've gotten over it, but I used to have a crush on Gadget - yes, the Rescue Rangers character.
It's true. Actually, Gadget reminded me of a real life person who I was gaga over at around the same time - she had a bit of an overbite and kind of a similar voice - I think I even told her once that she reminded me of Gadget. Dang, now that I think about it, I'm not over this one!

I've got a couple crushes...
not that I try to keep any of them secret, I usually dont go announcing them also. (though actions speak louder than word's, some posts might make them obvious)
Sometimes they are the best when they are not totally in the open. the crush/flirting stage is fun, and usually pretty innocent. :D

My super dee duper crush is on Audra. Not because she has a crush on me, but because she's fun to talk to in the dark and on rainy nights. She's literate, she writes witty things and likes blonde boys named Sparkle... or Shine... oh wait... BRIGHT!! [Ed]gayeeeeeeee[\Ed]

Wish I hadn't already spent Mojo points today :D
Still, 33.3% is not a very high chance. Since even that 33.3% didn't work out in the long run, I'm putting my chances at about 5.42%. Why? I don't know. I just like how 5.42 rolls off the tounge. And 246 people is just about half our student population....so you are suggesting I go out with just about every girl at school? Ha...fat chance :D
My last authentic crush was on the landlady from the film, Babe: Pig in the City. An actress friend of mine promised to introduce me, but she never brought it up again and I never asked. Sad na-lang. I made everybody I know sit through that movie. I believe I was quoted at one time as saying, it (Babe) was a better sequel then Godfather II. As for the actress, I was told she was in the film, The Grinch that Stole Christmas. So, I asked my Niece to watch it with me, as she owned a video copy.
Unfortunately, try as I might, I could not tell who the actress was in the film; everybod'a had such freakish make-up. And that movie ... holy mackerel ... it was so bad! So awful! Pain! My eyes. My TV watching eyes!
At one point, about a half hour into the Grinch, my Niece left to go potty. As soon as she was gone, I fast forwarded the tape all the way to the end. When she returned I was casually lying back on a pillow, seemingly en·raptured by what I was witnessing on the screen. I gestured confidentally toward the TV set, "Welp, it looks like the movie is over!"
She peered toward the TV. It was true. The movie was indeed, over.
"And it was good, too!" I added, for no particular reason. And then I ran out of the room before she could figure it out.
Uh ...
And that Ladies and Gentlemen, is my Grinch story. I thank you for coming to my post. Ku-ma-in ka na?
I do not know why I am told you that story. I think I missed the turn-off and kept on driving right past my point. I could take this next exit, but what if I get lost?
Ah, what the hell ... I'm taking it.

No need to limit yourself to the student body - why, I bet there are plenty of attractive women that don't go to your school. But where ever you look, you'd better get to it, it may take some time to date 246 wowmen before you graduate.

Crap. I haven't had a crush in eons. Years. Needs to be rectified immediately. Sure, my Starbucks guy is beyond hot in his Hobbit-reading, dark-haired, dark-eyed, excellent-latte-making way, but even he hasn't captured my imagination or caused me to flirt. Darn.
My sister's fiance's friend's brother has a crush on me that's a little uncomfortable at times...he's a cranky curmudgeon and will only leave the house if I'm going with the group somewhere. He's cute, but damn, the man has issues, hates half of Jon-Erik and Sarah's friends and he's always so freaking negative and grumpy. I couldn't crush on him if I tried, but I'm flattered by his affections.

And there's a man who rides the bus with me. The only commuter I actually converse with from time to time. I'm fairly certain I'm *his* bus crush. It's too bad I don't reciprocate his feelings because he *does* do a lovely Mr T impression from the A-Team, and he's a very nice guy.

I've always had crushes as "cover"... highly unattainable, and if I'm crushing over so-and-so, then obviously I can't have a real boyfriend, so I get to be by myself.
Currently? No real crushes to say. Of course there are movie stars that I gush over. Wouldn't count as a crush though.

My secret crush right now is Vin Diesel. I really am embarrassed about it too. Why is it that I can have a crush on Steve Buscemi, Edward Norton, Luke Wilson and Professor Snape that I will flagrantly admit too, but a Vin Diesel crush leaves me hanging my head in shame? It's because he's all muscle (which I really don't usually care for), doesn't seem too smart, and certainly isn't the world's best actor. I saw Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick and was converted. He's just so hot as a bad guy hero. Don't tell my husband. :p

I have what I call "Ally's Instant Relationship Breakers Pop Quiz". It's only one question, and it's pretty simple.
Pick the one which would qualify as an instant relationship breaker, or painful truth you couldn't overlook:
*Hi! I'm a Capricorn whose hobbies include Klu Klux Klanning and long walks on the beach.
*You might recognize me from my illustrious film career. Are you a fan of gang bang erotica?
*If it wasn't for rape I'd never get laid!
*My name is O.J.
*I'm fortunate enough to be friends with the most welcoming bunch of amazing people I've ever met! We share a mutual love of all things Disney, and we have the most fun adventures on our very own Message Board that allows us to share in that common interest and keep in touch with each other!
Okay, which one doesn't belong? (Gang bang fans, put your hands down! This quiz ain't for you! :p)
The most important factor in any relationship is honesty. Ask anybody. (Guys? Do you back me up on that? :) ) Meeting us is not the instant relationship breaker. Hiding who you truly are and being ashamed of that, or your friends, usually does the trick. And you have no reason to be ashamed. I'm sure your'e a pretty terrific person. (I mean, you post here, right? ;) )
NO girl is worth that. No person is worth that. Never stress to impress, because who you are is pretty impressive already. :)
Sigh. But what do I know? I'm a middle-aged 32 year old broad. :D :p ;)

Excuse me Sir, but you might be pleasantly surprised. A very interesting person and well rounded mind might be much more interested in the Swankers than the average high school crowd. I am not being defensive, as I am not part of the crowd that you speak of. Just a 40 something from elsewhere. ;)
Ahhhhh...now I digress. I remember big parties raging at my first boyfriend's house. I always got the biggest kick out of hanging in the back room with my boyfriend's grandma. She had to be at least 65 at the time, which actually sounds so young to me now. I called her "Granny Goose", she was the swankiest, coolest and most interesting chick around!

Don't feel too bad. The only person in my life that knows about my online life is my husband. My friends and relatives just wouldn't get it. But if someone I was involved with didn't get it to the point that my family wouldn't get it, I'd probably have to find a new relationship. And, um, I'm only 24. OMG! I have actually held a copy of that book in my hands. Back in my used book store days we got several boxes of really old adult novels in. I wish I could remember the titles, they were so awesome. There were some really weird ones like "The Rapist" and "The Strangler" too, though. The covers were to die for. I wish I had bought them now. (Just for cool factor of course!) They were some of the lamist novels you could ever lay eyes on.

I'm with you on Vin Diesel. There is something about that big hunky man with a deep voice that just makes me shiver! Yum Yum
So my longest crush has been Charlie Sheen. I love the bad boys.

As you all know, my biggest crush passed away. I pine for thee, Jerry O. :(
I was thinking of "secret crushes" this afternoon, and I have always had a little crush on Joss Whedon. To me, he is absolutely brilliant, witty and sharp. He has also kept me locking eyes with the television with Buffy The Vampire Slayer & Angel, for ages now! THANK GOD they live on in syndication (and now on DVD! I'll never stop watching! :snap: )
I really want to purchase Firefly on DVD, a series that I never got to catch the first time around. And, I just read an interview with Alyson Hannigan (Willow, Buffy The Vampire Slayer) hinting about discussion of a Buffy movie built around Spike, who just so happens to be another monster (no pun intended!) crush of mine!
Sigh. My Buffy & Angel fanzines are like Penthouse to me. (insert 25 geek smileys)
GrrrArghh! ;)
edited to add: :snap: for mistyisjafo's Buffy sig above me! Yay Buffy!

Last weekend I went with one of my pals to the WonderCon (a comics/fantasy convention here in San Francisco). Joss was there with 3 members of the Firefly cast - all of whom were also guests on Buffy/Angel. They were going to be doing a signing session, but in order to meet them you had to participate in a raffle (each autograph session was limited to 125 participants). I was given strict instructions by Heather, my beautiful wife, that it was mandatory for me to get Adam Baldwin's autograph. I lost the raffle, but instead won a raffle to get Christian Bale's signature. Luckily, there were some very young girls who had a winning Firefly ticket and were drooling over Christian, so a trade was made. That afternoon, I was chatting with the local Universal Pictures rep who, for reasons still unknown to me, decided to bring me "backstage" to the press room. I got to walk to the autograph room with Joss and Adam and was first on line for autographs. I returned home with a 8x10 inscribed to Heather by the three boys (Summer Glau just signed her name) and I was allowed into the house. "Secret" crush? Some secret. ;)

Me, too. I met the producer a ways back and he seemed very hopeful about the movie. I've heard such good things. Love, love, love Firefly. Adam Baldwin. Le sigh. Le sigh! He's just so...BIG. And he was in My Bodyguard.
And was great fun on Angel.
And, and, and. Yeah, geeker Whedon fan. I'm loving yours and Ally's posts. Adam Baldwin. Damn.
Saw Nathan Fillion when he contributed to Tom Lenk's little one man comedy act recently. He's very square looking. It kinda looked like I was watching him in widescreen. He's one of those "more attractive in photos" types, I think. But, man, he's a charmer on Firefly.
Ah, I just love that entire cast.

Me, too! Like my Chuck Palahniuk crush. It defies logic, but I want to lick his cranial region and make sweet love to his medulla oblongata.
And now I have a crush on you. You kill me nearly every time. LMFAO.
My crushes are completely random. In high school I was wild about Wilde. His writing, his mind, and foppish pictures of his younger self.
I've even developed crushes on voices. Stood in line behind a man ordering bagels once. I couldn't see him at first because I was looking away, but his voice was making me tingle. Looked up and he was an old, old man with a beer ruddy face. But the aftershocks of his voice left me tingly. If only one could bottle a voice like a perfume.
I've crushed on sweet natures. I've crushed on people's brains (Mr Barata, my 11th grade English teacher, I'm looking at YOU!) many, many times.
Some are superficial - lust, lust, lust. Some are kismet, I could fall in love with you type crushes.
I read a book on Rasputin, and wanted to take him to the prom.
Right now I happen to be unhappily fixated on a physical ideal who seems to carry the quality of intense stillness and quiet about him - a quality I'm rather taken with, maybe because it makes me feel calmed down. He just happens to love Jesus. A lot. And his quiet stillness could easily be subdued rage, so quite possibly he's a serial killer. It would probably be easier for me to date a serial killer than a bible thumper.
A girl can dream.
I fell in love once. The real deal, I guess. The personality; his charm, humor. His brain was huge and squishy. Interest in experimental theater. He appealed to me physically with his big blue eyes, his dark brown hair with a red beard to not match, his pudgy tummy, his VERY hairy hobbit body, his laugh, and he had these HUGE soccer player calves. He was a hugely flawed person. Possessive and jealous. Capable of unkindness. He was a bit of a turncoat. He masked insecurity with arrogance, which was probably his least attractive quality. But, man, to this day, no one has ever been able to make me laugh as hard as he could make me laugh. For a short time in my life he made me happier than I've ever felt. Which was a nice experience to have. Years after we broke up, we'd speak from time to time on the phone, and he could still make me laugh just as hard.
So, first love = last love? Maybe. Maybe not. Probably not. Screw him. Heh.
But in the meantime, I like crushes. Brains in. Brains sucked out. I know what's genuine and what's not.
Well, not always. Truth be told, this bus crush has me a bit turned around and beside myself at the moment. I just don't know what to do about it.

I have many crushes on voices. Right now I'm listening to Scott Simon on NPR (be still my heart) but he's just one of many of my favorite radio voices. I'd make a list but Scott is distracting me right now...
