The other night I was trying to explain the "How many licks" commercial for Tootsie Roll Pops to the Lash pair, and, as promised, the original ad IS on youtube (terrible sound quality though):

And just for kicks, so are some spoofs:

Okay, whatever, it's in theme.... another classic Tootsie ad.

(okay, admit it... you sang along, didn't you?)

And here's the new 3D version
Click Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtEPkRK1tlo&NR=1) It sounds like the original voices, too! By the way, Mr. Owl sounds like Paul Winchel, the original voice of Tigger.

That was horrible. The charm of that ad lies in its simplicity, and the simple animation style of the original was part of that.
Really just doesn't work in the new style.
Not only do Tootsie Rolls look like you're eating a cat turd they probably taste like it.
So as a kid I alway looked at those commercials as I would a child molester asking me to get in his car to help look for his lost puppy: with a sense that I was being betrayed and fooled.

I'm with Alex on this one. Tootsie rolls have never been appealing, ever.
If it was a sucker, it was a charms or a dum dum for me, growing up. It's to them and all the bazooka I chewed that I owe my cavities!

My best friend and I would pool all our cash and stop at the Party Port on the way to the library and buy as many two cent tootsie rolls as possible. Then we'd sneak them into the library and eat them all while we studied.
Not often (I'm not a big chocolate person) but at least Hershey's Kisses have the benefit of tasting good.
I don't know what cat turds taste like but I have confidence that if dogs could talk that they'd tell us Tootsie Rolls are a satisfactory substitute in single pet households.

I don't know what cat turds taste like.Considering your many other unique culinary ventures, this statement actually surprises me.
If it restores your confidence in me I do know (though accidentally, doing it on purpose is a very dangerous thing) what reasonably fresh cow crap tastes like.

What exactly divides "reasonably fresh" from "unreasonably fresh" in that case?

The charm of that ad...
Charm...Blow Pop. Heh heh.
I must know, was the pun intended?

What exactly divides "reasonably fresh" from "unreasonably fresh" in that case?
And how do you partake in that on accident?
You've never had something get into your mouth unintentionally?
There was once occasion for fresh pucky to be flying about and a bit ended up where I'd have rathered it not.

I have never liked Tootsie Rolls at all...I don't like chewy candy....But I loved the classic commercials. Thanks for bringing back memories! :)
