The Scene
Next to Hotel Swank and Disneyland, one of the best places to get a musical, cinematic and chihuahua fix would be a casa de mousepod. Having confessed I had never seen Song of the South, the mousepods proffered an invite for take out and the Disney classic on a really humongous television.

Jesse & Heather, hosts with the mostest cool house filled with a whole lot of cool stuff made me fell welcome and ordered some great Chinese take out (the picturesquely named Ants Climbing Up a Hill was my choice) The grub was good.

Even though I was covered in cat hair and no doubt smelt feline enough, I was accepted by Jack, Inka and the venerable and adorable Bob. The 3 best chihuahua's I've ever met. Perhaps it was also due to the fact I accompanied them on a short walking tour of the neighborhood and I also handed out the milkbone bribes.

Not content to just have me watch Song of the South, Jesse turned me on to the lost masterpiece The Thief and the Cobbler, we watched a few minutes of this and I felt such sorrow that it was not completed and was given such shoddy treatment by the house of mouse. Generous to a fault, he shared an extra DVD of film and I am going to enjoy watching the recobbled version.

Jesse also shared some of his vast music collection (simply amazing amounts of media in this house) both Beatles and Disney related. I came back home with a bag heavier than when I arrived.

We also watched a short from the House of Mouse, which Jesse rightly wondered, with all this toilet humor & violence, what was wrong with releasing the complete Make Mine Music with the Martins & the Coys? Sheesh......totally tame in comparison.

I'll save my thoughts for Song of the South in the Misc Movie Musings thread.

All in all, a great night, good food, fun movies, terrific music and hosts who are a whole lot of fun. I know you know it already, but you Southern Californians have a lot of fun in store for you!

Heh, you should have titled it RtS: Casa de Mousepod. :D

I also give Jesse and Heather's hospitality and all around coolness 5 out of 5 Bornieos. ;)

I went back to edit to try and do just that, alas, nop option for me.

Anyway, I'd rank them a solid 15 out of 10.

Jesse has so much music, my brain is still boggling at the sheer massiveness of his collection (and am enjoying my gifts on my iPod enourmously right now)

:iSm: - all I can say is, lookout, avalanche!

What's the point in collecting cool stuff if you're not going to share it?

It was wonderful to have Snowflake over to La Casa - a classy person who's also a movie geek = a perfect guest.

The chihuahaus want you to visit more often.
