Yes, I had another birthday this past Good Friday. (number 42 for anyone keeping track.) Matterhorn Fan and HTHBellcaptain treated me to Greek food and some lovable shark goods. First up, a Matchbox playset in which a shark pops up through a fishing dock and sends the little toy truck flying down a ramp:

Next up, a cool car that, at the touch of a button, pops up into an adorable mecha-shark:

And to top it off, in the mail that day, I received an amazing sculpture from a fellow named Jim McPhee, who created this very large, very precise replica, not of a true great white, but of Bruce, the temperamental mechanical shark from JAWS. It's astonishingly perfect, and a nerdy dream come true for me. (Yeah, I bought it for myself, but it took a while to get here, and finding it waiting on my doorstep after an evening of good food and good friends, well, it was a very nice b'day indeed.)

It's about the size of my cat Tsunami, and as I was unpacking it, Tsunami stuck his head in the beasts' mouth, a true circus lion tamer moment that would have made for an incredible picture, but my camera battery was dead. Attempts to recreate the moment have been a complete failure.
