I did some cleaning today, and decided it was time to empty and refill the two cat-boxes. I poured the contents of both into a cheap garbage sack and carried it, along with several other bags of trash, out to the apartment dumpster.

When I got to the dumpster and began tossing the bags in, I felt sand running between my toes. (I was wearing flip-flops.) I looked down and discovered that the bag o' litter had sprung a leak. I threw it away, then looked and saw that the litter had left a long trail.

I followed the trail back - the long line of litter and cat poop led all the way from the dumpster right back to my door!

I spent about half an hour outside sweeping up. One of the apartment residents came by and said,"Isn't that maintenance's job?" I told him what happened. He laughed right at me and kept going.

Don't let this happen to you!

Too late.;)

I only made a trail from my daughter's room to the garage, but it was gross, nonetheless. (Her kitty sleeps in her room at night, hence the cat box in her room).

With three cat boxes located in various strategic areas, this has happened more times that I care to admit.

And you only have 2 cats, FS!

I know we've had cat litter emergencies, but to be honest, Chris does most of the cat box maintenance. It started when I was pregnant 10 years ago and just never went away. Shhhhhh.

I have done this also! Sadly the trail started inside the bathroom, so I swept and vaccumed my way back to the garbage can.

Always check for leaks before you start the journey to the garbage can!

I heard this story already, but reading it just now made me crack up all over again.

Dog poop is great for citrus trees. I have yet to figure out what to do with cat ****.
