I did some cleaning today, and decided it was time to empty and refill the two cat-boxes. I poured the contents of both into a cheap garbage sack and carried it, along with several other bags of trash, out to the apartment dumpster.
When I got to the dumpster and began tossing the bags in, I felt sand running between my toes. (I was wearing flip-flops.) I looked down and discovered that the bag o' litter had sprung a leak. I threw it away, then looked and saw that the litter had left a long trail.
I followed the trail back - the long line of litter and cat poop led all the way from the dumpster right back to my door!
I spent about half an hour outside sweeping up. One of the apartment residents came by and said,"Isn't that maintenance's job?" I told him what happened. He laughed right at me and kept going.
Don't let this happen to you!
