I realize that unless one is very interested in Disney they would know this. But when a hometown forgets someone as a major figure as this gentleman,no words can be said. His life ending is really sad.:( Tom Chaney on another board found this video on Youtube.

If this isn't in the right area please move mods. Thanks

You forgot to include the link.

Since Edwards has been dead for 35 years if this is something recent indicating he's been forgotten then I wouldn't be surprised. People much bigger and more important than Edwards have been quickly forgotten after their death.

Of course, the same is true for many major stars by the time they die as well.

It's a news piece about how nobody in his hometown knows who he is by name. Very sad ending to his life, too.

Here's the link. Sorry about that.

I understand he's not a big figure anymore, but I thought this song would be his mark on the world.

Heck, I used to live three blocks from the home of Earl Warren, former Alameda County District Attorney, Governor of California, and Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

My experience is that hardly anybody in the neighborhood knew who he was, let alone that he'd lived there.

OH MY GAWD!

Wait . . . didn't he kill Kennedy?

Should say former home, since he'd been dead quite a while by the time I lived there. But if his star can fade to nothing so quickly within a neighborhood I'd say anybody's can.

We're Bing Crosby's hometown, and even though we have numerous memorials and the like I'd venture to say most kids 25 and under have no clue who he was.

I'd venture to guess that most people have no idea who Cliff Edwards was. When I did my first MousePod show in 2005, I talked a little about him - most of the responses to the segment (from Disney fans, no less) were "thanks for telling us about the voice of Jiminy Cricket."

I also found this one as well. Its not Cliff Edwards per se, though it is of a cliff
