Another great feature besides cuteness - they are already potty trained and use the litterbox religiously!

They're also used to dry or wet food, so they're not finicky eaters.

And, they love to be held. Wolfy's been handling them for hours daily, so they will be quite loyal pets. :D

He will soon enough.

I'd actually probably be pushing the issue but, Charles needs all of our attention and love and bringing in a new member of the family probably wouldn't be a good idea.

This thread has me choking. If I were in a different situation, two would be snatched up immediately, and which ones wouldn't even matter to me.

Woman, are you trying to kill me with all this cuteness?

Oooh... kitten cuteness! If I wasn't married to a guy that's so allergic and refuses to take a pill daily, I'd soooo get one or more. Dang.

It's probably a good thing I don't live close enough to get one, because those photos of Mater are so cute.

I'd take one too, but the landlord said "no pets". :(

I don't want one (I'm immune to the cuteness of kittens) but I'm curious what their source is. Do you have an unspayed cat?

I've love Flo and Mater, but my landlord wouldn't. Then there is Tango who might also object. But, dayum, they're sure cute as hell. Im not immune to cute.

If I didn't live on the opposite coast, it'd be near impossible to resist. I do hope you find perfect homes for them.

I'd love one, but I can barely afford the vet bills for the two I have. That, and I'm only supposed to have one cat; landlord doesn't know I have two. Damn.

She was a feral cat in the neighborhood and she got pregnant by another stray cat. We were able to befriend her and take care of her and the kittens. Once the kittens are gone next week we are taking her in to be "fixed" so this will not happen again.

Mater, Flo and Sally (Emmy) have been adopted. Doc is the only one left. They will be ready to go with someone next week. Won't someone show Doc some love? He is the runt of the litter.

Prudence

Oh, I love me some runt! My Boris was a runt, not that you'd know it to look at him. It's not fair that they're so cute!

Alex
04-26-2007, 09:18 PM
If I had any interest in having another cat Doc would be the one I picked. But I prefer dark cats.

Is the mother remaining feral or are you taking it in? If the latter, good for you.

Alex
04-26-2007, 09:21 PM
I suspect ours was a runt too (rescued from a gas station parking lot), and she stayed that way at about 10 lbs fully grown:

It's too bad their eyes don't generally stay blue, though.

Alex, your cat is beautiful! Very nice color!

And Doc is awesome. He's got dark brown stripes that run through the black, as shown in one of the photos of him. He's also the most playful of the four.

OK, Alex, though you are immune to the cuteness ray.... I've been blasted. What a cute cat you have!

Alex
04-27-2007, 06:49 AM
Not sure what spoiling would entail. She gets all the food and water she can consume.

Otherwise she is a perfect fit for me. She doesn't like physical contact but doesn't take anything seriously. I don't think it would be possible to spoil her, her tastes are too ascetic.

I really should post some pics of Haggis as a kitten. I know that would melt Alex's cuteness barrier. She's a scottish fold, and she is pretty tiny even today. With her bent ears and big owl-eyes, she's still awfully cute. Nasty-tempered, but adorable. She has a serious catnip addiction going these days, but we don't mind- it seems to mellow her out.

I would give my eye teeth to have Doc. Unfortunately, where I live, I cannot have pets. :(

I plan on moving. When I do, I seriously want to start my own ranch. Rancho De Ally. I want gazillions of pets. Dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters, bunnies, lambs, goats, pigs & Ooh! I want a bearded dragon, too. Ooh! Ooh! And some miniature ponies. I just love those things. :)

I'm obsessed with my boyfriend's parakeet,Tippi (as in Hedren- a salute to Birds). I feel so very Snow White when she sits on my finger. She's so social & adorable. His cat is super cute, too. (we can't keep her anywhere near the parakeet.)

I think those cats are precious. I wish I could take Doc. DAMN!!!!

When I say I'm immune to their cuteness I don't mean to say I don't find them cute, I do. Kittens are uniformly cute.

But seeing a cute kitten does not make me want it. That's what I'm immune too. I can walk through an animal shelter look at all the kittens, play with them, tell them how cute they are and then say "ok now, off to the gas chamber with you."

Friggin' A! Do you also poke the terminally ill repeatedly with a stick? I mean, because I do. Thus, no judgement here.

:p

Seriously now! I walk through a shelter & weep like a tortured school girl. I wish I could adopt EVERY animal on the planet. Now, as far as sending people off to the gas chamber? We don't have enough posting space for me to tell you all the folk I'd gleefully send, beginning with O.J. & ending with the bitch who cut me off at Starbucks the other day.

:p

I don't find animals uniformly cute. Temperament plays a key, and a cute picture says "great disposition" regardless what reality has to say about the situation. The problem I have with animal shelters is that often, I want to take about half the animals home. I know that's not possible, so when I see a really cute one and really really really want it, I do get sad.

Hopefully, my next trip to the animal shelter in UT will result in the bringing home of a doggie and a kitty. !!!

Well, all the kitties found homes, and we pick them up tonight!

Emmy, the one in the first photo, is ours. :D

And, here's what I did today in preparation for her homecoming:

To help with the "barrier" method of giving Emmy her own space and keeping the other cats out, we decided upon a cardboard box, with an opening large enough for her, but too small for our big babies, until everyone is comfortable in a few days or so. (Our bathrooms are way too small to lock her away, and I'd like to keep an eye on her.)

Of course, I can't let anything be that simple, so here are the results of that idea -

Note the curtains in the front "windows".
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b80/Disneyphile/Kittens/100_0680.jpg

This is the backside access port so we can scoop her box, etc. I made the roof slanted to keep our big cats from sitting on top and causing a "cave in", and added tabs to keep it locked down, but easily accessible.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b80/Disneyphile/Kittens/100_0681.jpg

And, this is the interior, with flooring that matches the curtains. ;)

Aww! Thank you so much for posting those pictures, Disneyphile! You did a fantastic job! I love it! :) :snap:

You love animals as much as I do! Except I had a 65 pound black lab that insisted on sleeping in bed with me, only not at the foot of the bed. She had to spoon with me while her little puppy head was nestled in the pillow. :)

MUST RESIST.

If I make it through this "kitten season" with a divorce, I'll be happy.
