Zombies!

What is it about Zombies that creep me out, even as an adult male I get freaked out by them, am I the only one that is terrified by the undead?

Even though it's a comedy, the zombies in The Return of the Living Dead scare me the most.

Actually, I've always thought it would be a hoot to play a zombie extra in a George Romero film. But actual zombies would be pretty unpleasant.

I really wouldn't want to be a zombie. That might be the worst fate of all, but then... if I became a zombie, would I care, or would I just want brrraaaaaaainnns?

Vampires seem superior in many ways, but I have to wonder how that whole eternity thing works out for them. I'd want to die at some point.

I love zombies far more than vampires, warewolves, and other monsters. I still adore a super-gory zombie flick, with blood galore. I can't say I'd want to be any one of them though, or want to be attacked by them.

I'd go with "infected" or "cursed" for werewolves. They don't really qualify as "undead". Zombies, mummies, vampires, they all have a very close relation with the trappings of death (rising form the grave, sleeping in coffins, etc), that's not really the case with lycanthropes.

David Sedaris spent quite a bit of time talking about zombies the other night. It started because his recommended book on thie tour is The Zombie Survival Guide (http://www.amazon.com/Zombie-Survival-Guide-Max-Brooks/dp/071563318X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-5522360-9628006?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1177834606&sr=1-1) He even had copies for sale at his signing table. Apparently, the book is filled with every fact you'd want to know about zombies. Read it. I'm sure it will clear up all of those "urban zombie myths" you've been hearing.

Zombies are boring...all they eat is human flesh. If I were a zombie, I'd still want my chocolate fix! Ah well...maybe I could eat the CEO of Hershey's or something.

But, I wouldn't want to be those zombies from the remake of the film Dawn Of The Dead which came out 3 years ago. They run...and as a member of the undead, I would want to get as little exercise as possible to eat the brains of the living...I wouldn't want my limbs to shrivel off, after all.

The whole Devouring thing is what gets me.

We tend to be scared poopless of anything up the food chain from us, like sharks and bears (Jabberjaw and Winnie as notable exceptions).

The thought of being devoured by anything, especially something that resembles us, is very creepy.

Max Brooks, Mel Brooks son wrote this book called World War Z. It is an oral history of a world wide Zombie infestation and how the world crumbles and society collapses.. It is so spooky and has so many references to whats going on in the world today... eeeeeekkk..

But it is a book called "The Rising" by an author named Brian Keene, that basically about a year ago after reading it, I could not sleep. It was such a disturbing Zombie book unlike I ever read before....

I just don't find zombies very frightening. They're too easy to get away from, unless you're one of those people that gets paralyzed by fright, in which case the horror genre equivalent of natural selection takes place. Vampires aren't very scary either. Well, Nosferatu was scary, but all the others are mostly sexy. Some of the scariest things I can think of are real-life things, like Ann Coulter.

Yikes! Muy creepioso. However, I find vampires sexy. Television & movie vampires, that is. Especially if they are named Spike or Angel. Ooh! And I just love that movie Love Bites starring Adam Ant as the way sexy vampire that lives in the leading lady's apartment? :snap: There was like an ancient crypt behind her fireplace containing his casket, where his un-deadiness slept. You know, that old common problem. Leaky roof, rusty plumbing, hidden crypts containing undead rock stars. File that under your disclosures.

No zombies or mummies or monsters, thank you very much. I'll stick with angels & saints anyday! :)

The whole sexy vampire thing has always caused me to roll my eyes. If the category is horror, then what's so scary about a monster who is good looking, eternally young and fabulous in bed? The worst thing he can do to you is make you eternally young and oversexed as well. All such books should be moved into the fantasy section.

Unless you get off on rancid corpse-scent, unbrushed filthy teeth, rotting flesh & all around decay, my guess is no. The only ones who might qualify to actually enjoy that are necrophiliacs & anybody who shags Keith Richards.

Zombies are usually slow and clumsy, it would be better to get away from them in an open space, (street, avenue, parking lot) So hiding in a building, closed space can possibly trap you inside and the "Z's" will multiply and barracade you in.

However, the only zombies that can run are the one's with the rage virus...

On the subject of Junior High School style "ruling" which one can NEVER be too old for..

Matterhorn Fan~ Night Of The Comet rules!!!! I LOVE that movie. It doesn't take a rocket scientist, or even a grade school science student or even a zombie who once owned a microscope & petri dish to know that my favorite scene was when they tried on all of the outfits and accessories in the shopping mall! :D
