Saw a news teaser about this yesterday. Willies indeed. Just wait until the eggs hatch!

WARNING TO BTD
(if it is not too late)

You do NOT want to open the link. Just close this thread and forget it ever existed.

Like she'd open a thread with "spider in your ear"?

Then she probably doesn't want to click this link:

Why.... why did I have to look.

Now my skin is crawling.

I was reading the posts from Alex's link above. I was amused by this one (in describing another spider):
New World tarantulas' first defense is not to strike, but turn around and flick irritating hairs at you.I have this odd vision of a pretentious, fashion slave spider that would feel right at home at "Mode" magazine (from Ugly Betty).

It's ok. The really big ones can't generally jump farther than 2 or 3 feet.

So if we stay 1 foot away, we'll be safe.

Still broken. Looked through all the linked photos and stuff from the Metafilter thread and kept thinking "cooool."

My step-father was a pretty manly man (while appearing somewhat effeminate) but he would scream like a little girl at even the wimpy spiders we get in Washington.

I'm still looking for my phobia. I grew out of the only one I ever had (public speaking).

Sadly I heard this on the news last night. So of course I had to open this thread.

Much like I finally watched all 3 Saw movies after walking out of the 2nd one and not sleeping for 2 weeks. Morbid curiosity - though I will NOT be opening that link.

The greatest thing about the story is that the kid was really into it, and had the doctor put the spiders into a little plastic case that he could show his friends.

Somehow, I've heard of this happening before.

I also remember hearing, and I think it was from my former boss who's a dentist (though I could be wrong), of a story about a young woman or perhaps just a girl had chronic halitosis since she was a young toddler. She went to the doctor, and it turned out she'd eaten part of a christmas tree, or something, that hadn't digested and was rotting in her stomach.

When I broke my hand a couple of years ago (shattered my fifth metacarpal), I kept one of the pins used to put hand back together.

I have the bebe that used to reside in Charles' leg.

The ear/bug thing is so Night Gallery.

I assume you mean a small metallic projectile (a bb) and not a fashionably overpriced t-shirt.

I was surprised I had to read this on MSN this morning, considering it happened in the next town over and I've heard nothing about it:eek:

Will this kid's head explode when the eggs they laid hatch?

yeah, my lil brother has wrecked his bikes a number of times and sports more hardware than your average bionic man. now they're starting to remove some of the metal pieces as the bones finally heal (years later) and the parts start to aggro the rest of his body. he has a nice (not to mention heavy) collection of bars, screws, and pins they've added and removed.

of course, now hes planning some sort of oddball art project with them.

I have this odd vision of a pretentious, fashion slave spider that would feel right at home at "Mode" magazine (from Ugly Betty).

Aww! Why don't the little pretentious, fashion-slave spiders infiltrate my casa? I never get uppity spiders crawling my walls! Instead of freeing the little fellas (which are, like, so not into fashion. They're just into being creepy) like I normally do, I would gather them 'round for a weekly recap of everything featured in both Star & In Style magazines. Then, we would all watch E! together & giggle over Britney & Lindsay's latest foibles. Eventually, I would see just a pair of my Manolos walking themselves down my stairs, only upon closer inspection to find a team of spiders inside the instep, manipulating them. Get back in your web, thievy little Charlottes. Those stillettos be mine. :p ;)

Damn. I need a friend. BAD. :(

Why did I read the title and see the word a$$ instead of ear?

I do think it's neat that he wasn't totally freaked out by it, but if it were me, I would have to squash them immediately and thoroughly. Yikes. I don't have a fear of spiders or any other bugs, but creepy crawlies in my ear?

I woke up with an ant in my mouth once. Didn't make me afraid of them but I raid the heck out of them if I see one.

Pirate Household tip of the day: If you use 409, or bleach water, it kills them just the same, but keeps the area clean instead of a potential toxic mess. :)
