I think the mix of prints could work. Last night, only because Real Simple put the idea in my head (I never think of these things on my own), I wore a black skirt that has sort of an embroidered swirly pattern in white with a black top with white pin dots. They would look WONDERFUL with your cute shoes! However, I have a tip. The Gap has some wide leg trousers in a similar pinstripe. They were a bit too low on the waist for me, but they were cute. I don't see them on their web site, but a store may be worth checking out. They were not exoensive at all.

I was wondering something as I was driving home this evening (and hearing a report that clothing is expected to surpass computers in terms of online purchases this year).
How comfortable are you with buying clothing online? For me, I generally want to try items on before I buy them (ESPECIALLY shoes!). And many of the items shown in this thread would be definite "try on before you buy" items. I am curious to hear the feedback on this.
Prudence
05-14-2007, 09:59 PM
If I can buy online and return to a brick-and-mortar store, I definitely buy online. I much prefer to try things on in the privacy of my own home. Frankly I prefer to shop from the privacy of my own home, too, so as to avoid annoying comments from shop employees.

05-14-2007, 10:18 PM
I prefer shopping on-line because I can do it anytime. With shoes, it is always a crap shoot anyways, so I always require the ability to return. Certain stores have a better selection of sizes on line (:cough:Anthropologie) and I don't get as frustrated. I find that I am doing about 80% of my apparel shopping on line lately.
I've never bought clothes online. Well, other than shoes. I've been wearing the model of Saucony running shoes for almost a decade and the same model of Rockports for just about as long so I can safely buy those online.
But never clothes. Of course, until a couple weeks ago it had been a few years since I had really shopped for clothes in a regular store either (generally it is "I'll take one of whatever shirt is closest to the door").

I tried to buy this dress this morning, and it's on back order until JULY. So much for wearing it in June. Sigh.
I adore that dress!!!!!
I wish that site had more in the full figured sizes....
Now I have to go find something.... be back.
Okay, I'm back. Not that I have ANYWHERE to wear it, but I adore this
$158 ... enough leftover to get some spanx!

Not for me. For my daughter. I had posted one here but I'm totally changing my mind.
I hate black. I love http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/is/image/Anthropologie/63510_frt?$main220x340$ Now to find some shoes ...

As a matter of fact, I actually am looking for a little black dress. That's funny - so am I!

What length are you looking for? I've seen some really nice "car length" coats recently.Yep, that length. I'm not tall enough for a really long one.
I love that dress, Helen! I am in the market for a cute skirt or dress. I want to have something that travels well.

If I had $300 a day to spend on clothes, I would spend that much. I love (and wear) hats.

I was actually thinking of trying my hand at hat-making. I want a victorian riding hat, and they're just too expensive to buy already made.
