Haven't we all wanted this for our living rooms?

Well we're in luck, but because that and lots of other Wacko Jacko stuff is going to be auctioned off, against his will, at the end of this month in Vegas.

This is a link (http://www.nightcharm.com/?p=780) to a story about it. That page is very, VERY NOT WORK/FAMILY SAFE!

E! Online also has a story (http://www.eonline.com/news/article/index.jsp?uuid=0193a44a-63ab-4961-949a-53a96ba1b6ae). That site is G-rated.

Kevy, I can see you with that as your avatar.

LOLOLOLOLOL!! That's so fabulous!! I SO wish I had that piece of art (and I use the term "art" loosely). Or, even better, I'd love to give it as a gift and watch the mortified expression on the gift receiver's face.

I love tacky sh*t, and this takes the cake! I mean, it fully blows away the Red Skelton Clown Collection by a million miles.

I want this as my avatar, too!!!! :D

As my public (dis)service for the day. I'll post a pic from another site:

OMG, I want one. I hope they make smaller versions of this, because that is the epitome of all things tacky. :D

I like Jeff Koons stuff, generally. I liked his series that focused on his, um, intimate relationship with his then-wife Cicciolina that he did a couple of years after the Jackson/Bubbles sculpture.

(I've seen the Michael Jackson work in person - photos don't do it justice. It is wonderfully garish.)

I didn't realize we were talking about Jeff Koons! I love to hate Jeff Koons. His artwork ALWAYS turns my stomach, yet I am fascinated by it. He is VERY well known and appreciated in the art world yet, I can't stand to look at his artwork. He definitely gets a reaction out of me, which is a good thing, i suppose.

Here's another pic of the piece in question which, hopefully, will show up in the thread.

The artist's website is here. (http://www.jeffkoons.com/index_flash.html)

As I read the linked stories, it appears that the statue in question is not part of the auction, as it isn't owned by Jackson. It's owned by the Broad Art Foundation.

I think I'd rather have a ceramic figure of the "image not found" guy than Jacko and the chimp.
