I'm TiVoing my ex-roomate!

I received this e-mail from my friend Katherine today. We were in high school theatre together, and she, her cat Metro, and I were roomates for several years when I first got sober.

it is upon us. finally. the ARMY WIVES premiere. the TV series i created, am writing and am one of the executive producers, along with Mark Gordon, of "Grey's Anatomy," and starring Kim Delaney (NYPD Blue) and Catherine Bell (JAG).

all the trips to South Carolina since August (where we film on a real military base), the all nighters (not to mention giving birth and raising my 5th month of daughter, Madeleine!), the endless rewrites and the constant sleeping with my blackberry and texting in my dreams...

all of it will mean nothing...

How can you not love somebody that names her kitty after the MGM lion :)

(I used to have a stuffed lion bought at the MGM Grand before it burned down, and naturally called it Metro. Really liked that lion, man.)

Actually, named from the song by Berlin, "Riding on the Metro." This cat is old!

There was also a dove named Riannon, from the Stevie Nicks song.

I thought the cat was named Metro for its predilection for expensive lotions and facial cremes.

Thankfully, Madeleine was born long after Katherine's habit of naming things after 80's songs had passed.

Of course, now that I think about it, she did name those things during the 80's.
