I posted this in the sub meet thread, but thought I'd put it out here for those not checking the thread.
Long story short, I have heard that they are allowing anyone with an AP to ride the subs today. At least as of this afternoon.
That is all.

Would you be more annoyed if you went and they didn't, or if you didn't go and they did?

I'm already going to be there, so it doesn't matter either way. I was just wondering if there was any buzz ;)

We're going again. This will be Bornieo's 11th trip today.I suspect that there is a good chance that they will allow non-ticketed AP'ers again tomorrow, but no promises.Well, the voyage has begun so I am off

I don't think I'll make it down before July... so I imagine you'll see Nemo before I do, GC.
I wondered how I'd feel knowing that for the first time in many, many years I would not be in the thick of things for a big event at Disneyland. If I'd miss not knowing almost immediately what I thought of some new thing.
Turns out I'm completely fine with it. Of course, I didn't like the original subs so I guess the next thing will be the real test. The thought of having to pay sixty something dollars just to get into Disneyland kills some of the appeal (for the first time since 1998 I am without an AP).

There's more to life than AP-ness. ;)
Definitely, it wasn't the AP causing me to wonder how I'd feel, it was the lack of access to a big event.
It has been a while since I didn't get to first ride a new attraction at a press event with almost no line and as many trips as I wanted and the ability to take flash photos without being rude or pausing in the queue to photograph every minor detail and blah blah blah.
I do miss the drives down though. I've only been down there once since last October and as boring as it is I also love just spending six hours driving in a straight line.

LOL you goober. Puns aside, it is true -- though I AM going to the Nemo meet on the 24th as my last hurrah before my pass expires on the 26th.
I'm just so burnt out on it (the thought of braving the parking structure and trams just one more time makes me a little queasy). Plus I get to see all you lovely LOTters outside of our natural habitat, which makes for more interesting times. :D

Well, I didn't expect to ride this today - I was down for a job interview and stopped by - I asked a CM in front of the subs if this was the AP preview and she said yes then asked me if I had one - which I showed to her and she said go ahead. Then I rode it 11 times - the last couple with Kevybaby, GusGus, Disneyphile and Froto - and then several times with the MIA DisneyDaniel.
I'll refrain my review but it gets an E-ticket from Bornieo!

^^ Any guest was allowed on the ride today. The waits were about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. BUT they closed it at night for maintenance.
1 hour wait means "just starting to curve around the lagoon on the matterhorn side". They have lines set up to go all the way around the lagoon, past the (former) smoking area, through the motorboat cruise load area, and switchbacks completely into small world mall. (!!!)
While I enjoyed the ride (though, seriously, why the cave part had to be underwater at all boggles me) I do not think it is worth any more than an hour or two wait, at absolute max.

After the summer rush, when you can get on with a 20 minute or less wait, I'll go on a few more times.
Still, the biggest draw to me is the nostalgia. If a family with young kids into Nemo go on, they may enjoy it even more.

I think I shall ride with the group on the 24th then probably not again unless the lines are much shorter.
Although all three of my rides have been on the starboard side. I would like to ride port just once!

BTW- did anyone notice the flotation devices behind the seats? Just in case the sub sinks! ;)

That was my first thought!
"Oh good, they put cushions on the seats!" But then I folded the seat down and noticed that it stayed uselessly behind. Bummer.
