Yeah yeah... the thread is sooooo out of character for me.

I am curious though.
We have the thread about feel good songs,
About the driving songs... what are your top romance songs?
Not the songs for gettin' it on... someone else make that thread...
But the.. songs you wish someome would dedicate to you, or that speak to you..
What are yours?

(I'll post mine as soon as I find the titles)

Me So Horny by those masters of seduction & romance themselves, the 2 Live Crew. One day, I hope that I can take to the dance floor at my wedding to the strains of that ditty.

Okay, I kid. :D This is such a fun Thread! I'm off to make a mental list!

And NO, Sometimes when We Touch will SO not make that list. My brother Rob & I were just dying over that song the other day & singing it to each other, gagging, as my Mom chimed in! Haha!! :D

I don't know if I'd call it a romance song, but it's definitely a f*ck song.

At Last - Etta James - because I absolutely adore the song.
Sabor a Mi - Many artists - I always liked this song, but it gained extra meaning for me on our wedding day. Susan was dancing with her grandfather for the Father Daughter dance. I danced with her Grandmother. Unbeknownst to me, as I was dancing with Grandma, she told me that the song was her and Grandpa's special song. Further, Grandma told me that I was the first man she had danced with besides Grandpa in 40 years Not even her sons had danced with her! She said she was quite nervous at first, but that she felt very comfortable with me. A definite highlight in my life.
Since I Fell For You - Bob James and David Sanborn (with Al Jarreau on vocals). Yes, I know this is a Lenny Welch song and has been covered countless times. But something about this song (well, the whole "Double Vision" CD) just works.
Slave to Love - Brian Ferry

A special shout-out to Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers, although, you know, It kinda doesn't do it for me & all, but I couldn't help addin' it!

And please refrain from giggling..

Nights In White Satin~ The Moody Blues

What totally cracks me up is that I'm always saying how much I'm not a ballad fan, yet I have all of these songs I'm listin'! I do love romantic ballads. Ones that I find kinda sappy, however, just elicit a big "ick" from me!

And please refrain from giggling..

Nights In White Satin~ The Moody BluesI actually used to know the entire poem at the end of the song. Although I never thought of it as particularly romantic (but that is just me).

Breath deep
The gathering gloom
Watch lights fade
From every room
Bedsitter people
Look back and lament
Another day's useless
Energy spent

Impassioned lovers
Wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love
And has none
New mother picks up
And suckles her son
Senior citizens
Wish they were young

Cold hearted orb
That rules the night
Removes the colours
From our sight
Red is gray and
Yellow white
But we decide
Which is right
And
Which is an Illusion

Astrud Gilberto - My Foolish Heart

The night is like a lovely June
Beware my foolish heart
How white the ever constant moon
Take care my foolish heart

There's a line between love & fascination
That's hard to see on an evening such as this
For they both give the very same sensation
When you're lost in the magic of a kiss

His lips are much to close to mine
Beware my foolish heart
But should our eager lips combine
Then let the fire start

For this time it isn't fascination
Or a dream that will fade & fall apart
Its love. This time it's love.
My foolish heart
