I'm sorry if i haven't been around since a while but i recently moved to Orlando for a year long so i had tons of stuff to do .

But hey here i am and i'll try to take some pictures and let you know about WDW .

Here in Florida it's Humid , some isolated thunderstorms and very very hot and it's not summer yet .

This is my first working and living experience in United States and i've been to the US before but not for an entire year .

i might come to California before November ( Disneyland ) .

It's scary to say this, but you'll get used to the humidity here. Seriously.

I lived in Panama City for a year and never got used to it. To this day, I hate humidity. Ask anyone who'd ever heard me bitch about the (relatively low) humidity in LA and Anaheim. We have minimal humidity up here in Eastern Washington, and I like it that way.

Welcome to the USA!

Is this some sort of Disney exchange program? Or did you just apply at WDW and get a different job? Hmm, I wonder if they get many French-speaking tourists at WDW...

WDW has an exchange program for EPCOT. Many of the CMs in the World Showcase are from the country showcased.

World Showcase exchange CMs are the best! Is that your gig???

blueerica
06-26-2007, 01:41 PM
Yes, that's completely and totally awesome if you're there for the World Showcase. That had to be my favorite part of Epcot, hands down.

dlrp_bopazot
06-26-2007, 09:30 PM
yes i'm a part of the Internationnal '' Exchange'' Program at WDW .

Right now since last year French or any other international people can work at different places at WDW even outside the World Showcase and Guest Relations .

It's Called the Internationnal College Program like today i met some girls they just arrived in Orlando and they're going to work at Tower Of Terror at DMGM .

you know i much i would pay to work on that ride here at WDW . The True and Original TOT .

GD and I are still WDW virgins (one day, we'll get there) so can I ask - what exactly do you do there? I have no idea what working World Showcase would involve. Do you wear a beret and show people how to make crepes? ;)

blueerica
06-26-2007, 10:23 PM
Well, duh CP... isn't that what all French people do? ;)

€uroMeinke
06-26-2007, 10:41 PM
I just wonder what it's like to be authentic French and work in Faux-France - and if (after the Summer progresses) you trade places with other world showcase CMs and try to pass yourself off as something else, Like Moroccan, or Welsh.

Aren't they supposed to be verbally abusive waitpersons?;)

(Kidding, DLRP- I'm French and French Canadian, and I was a very kind if not somewhat clumsy waitress).

i actually work at the French Attraction but i had also the choice to work in merchendise but i didn't like it in france so i've chosen Attraction .

The Bakery and Chefs de France are not Manage by Disney like Alfredo and you know i respect those CMs the work there but i don't like food and beverage i've also worked at Food and Beverage for 5 months at Disneyland Paris so i know what i'm talking about .

Again, my lack of WDW knowledge is stunning - what is "the French Attraction"?

I'm guessing it's the film?

dlrp_bopazot
06-27-2007, 07:11 PM
yes actually The France Attraction is a 18 Minutes Movie Featuring awesome French Countryside and Paris .

It's not the best movie or ride at Epcot but it's still nice to see it once at least .

They sing in French in the Canadian film, does that count ? :D

(sadly, we missed France, although we got movie footage of the buildings)

dlrp_bopazot, welcome to the US!

I love that 18-minute movie, especially the music... it plays like a who's-who in French music: some Debussy, Saint-Saens, etc. I thoroughly enjoy World Showcase, as tacky as SOME of it is. On further thought, I have to say Epcot is my favorite of all WDW parks.

ps. hi again everyone! I'm back in LA after a long hiatus, for those of you who remember my occasional stop-in's here. I wish I had a visual record of "# new [posts" when I first logged on yesterday.. I think it was in he 5- or 6-figure range...

At least you can spice up the intro and outro if you wish.

We went round World Showcase a few times, but called not into all of the pavilions. We did stand watching the japanese lady make candy sculptures for ages ! I have video of her making a scorpion.

You'll have to listen to the old song on your iPod these days (or just think about it for a few seconds and have it in your head for weeks), but they did a really good job. It's super cute. And really, who could dislike a Donald Duck attraction?

its in there, just subliminally... i should know i herd it only 10 times, and i still hear it when i ride the updated one...

if only it had a Donald Animatronic... and jose and whatever the 3rd one was.. lol and had the song playing loudly rather than subliminally..

(I know i hear that song... oh wait, maybe i had my ipod on at the time...)

I don't know... unless they kept the "La lala la la..." I'm not sure I want to botherOf course I have no clue what you're referring to, but I now have "Animagique" in my head.

La la la-la-la-la
Animagique, Animagique....

Yeah, it'll be a while before I can think of anything other than that.

And there's a Donald pinata in there.

And oh, yeah, dlrp_bopazot is working over in France. That movie gives me a headache--but that's all me, not the movie. (The one in Canada makes me dizzy.)
