I can see the Transformers thread becoming completely derailed over this trailer so I started a new one.

Also ... to go back to something on page one .... who else besides me and mousepod had that weird J.J. Abrams hoax trailer before the film? At least, I've heard it was a hoax of some sort. I found it far more interesting than The Transformers. Anyone else see it? Know anything about it?

My friend swears it's Godzilla. Rumors are rampant on the internets from a new Godzilla to a LOST! tie in. The website: http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com/ is very bizarre. It reminds me of the LOST! Experience.

There is a star on the left that launches my email every time I click it. The URL is http://[mail info I removed]/?view=cm&fs=1&to=van%40ethanhaaswasright.com&su=I'm%20one%20of%20you...%20help%20me!

I sent an email to van@ethanhaaswasright.com (the email address provided) that said "Who Are You" and this was the reply:

think I’m safe, for now. Wherever I go it isn’t long before they find me.

It seems The Mezin are connected to every aspect of humanity, from culture and religion to our most advanced technology

I have to be more careful contacting all of you. When I began I thought I could safely speak about his writings and perhaps save us all...

but now it seems I will have to find a more subtle way to share his visions.

If this is the first message you have received from me do not give up hope! There are others that have gone before you, the way has been found, you only need to search and you will find the answers you seek. We are getting stronger, our voices will be heard!

I have more of Haas’s writings, once I find a secure way to transmit them I will leave you clues to find them.

The more I read the more I realize Haas was right………

Did you play the Simon-ish game with the ball at the ethanhaaswasright website? If you follow along, you get a video clip like that, then a weirder puzzle I haven't been able to figure out yet.

Here's the theater trailer. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=KQWFOgvPE20)

I'm not all into the viral marketing thing, but I think the trailer is cool (though GD will never see a handheld film).

Um, a whole lot of professional films are shot "hand-held" nowadays. It's not hand-held, per se, that GD (and others) find obnoxious, but rather the "amateur" style of hand-held that purposely seeks to emulate home video.

That clarification aside ... the movie looks awesome. I'm already there because "Rob" is a hotty ... but if it's true it's a Godzilla movie, I'm there on opening night!

I just read a post on imdb that purports to be a letter from JJ Abrams to Ain't It Cool News:

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your support of our little movie. I can't wait to talk to you more about it -- of course, knowing you, by the time we talk you'll know more than I will.

Regarding the online stuff you posted: yeah, we're doing some fun stuff on the web. But, obviously, if the movie doesn't kick some massive ASS, who gives a rat's about what's online? So as you can imagine, we're focusing mostly on THAT. For what it's worth, the only site of ours that people have even FOUND is the 1-18-08.com site. The others (like the Ethan Haas sites) have nothing to do with us.

Stay cool the rest of the summer -- and thanks per usual for AICN!

JJ

I'm with GD! No Blair Witch photography for me. It does look like it will be a fun action thriller if they change to "regular" film style.

So many previews give away the whole film these days, so I liked this teaser. Let us wonder, get crazy with speculation on the internet. Best Week Ever was picking on the trailer this week for that reason. JJ Abrams freaks moving two cards on the webpage for hours and hours. Haha.
