Out of curiosity to anybody who knows dog breeding, is coloration shape at all breedable or just pretty much random?

But if so I think I just realized the logical conclusion of the lolcat phenomenon.

It's rare that chihuahas are bred for coat - in fact, it's not unusual to have long hair and smooth coat chihuahuas in the same litter.

My mother used to have a Pom/unknown mutt with a perfect "hidden Mickey" on her side.

"Why do they call this Dog Falls and, say, where's Pretzel?"

Elaine Callander was walking Kyle when he fell into the gorge
A dog has been rescued after falling 50ft down a gorge at a Highland beauty spot called Dog Falls.

And to think I had no idea before this post that there was even such a thingI knew about the lolcat thing, but in looking it up on wp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolcat), I found out about another term: Snowcloning (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowclone). I guess this belongs in the other thread, but I am glad someone came up with a word for that.

Snowcloning is indeed a very useful word. I'm glad to see the wiki page correctly identifies the Language Log source. That's a regular blog on my reading list so it was cool to be there at the creation of a word and actually see it spread into common use (at least within certain circles).

If you're interested in things linguisticky I recommend that blog (though it does veer into way over my head jargon sometimes.

Man, somewhere recently I read a very interesting article from a dictionary editor on how words are selected for inclusion. But now I can't find it.

Love it. Just in case you weren't sure.. The name "lolcat" is a compound of lol and cat.

You can't help but laugh at lolcats. They let you look at funny cat pictures without having to admit to being that person who looks at funny cat pictures. I look at them for the text! you can say.

Keep your cute heart puppy, I want one of these. No steroids involved, further evidence that 60% of bodybuilding is good genetics, 30% hard work, and 10% juice (as my former personal trainer used to say).
