The water park's land lease ends this fall and The Irvine Co. will not renew it. (http://www.ocregister.com/ocregister/money/article_1756146.php)
Wild Rivers Waterpark's 22-year run will come to its end after this season.
The water park's lease with landlord The Irvine Co. expires this fall and will not be renewed, despite Wild Rivers' request for an extension.

I've never been.
In fact, the last water park I've been to was Typhoon Lagoon .... in 1995!
(I used to frequent water parks in my younger youth. Viva San Dimas!)

I don't believe I've ever been to a water park. (I'll have to remember that next time we play that finger game.)

Um... Orange County Register has been publishing this same story several times through the years (with different dates, obviously) - but the park and the Amphitheater are on the same lease - they'll go bye bye in 2017.

I think they should just turn the place into a wild animal park - that you can drive through - and be assaulted by giant flightless birds from around the world.

A great name for that would be Lion Country Safari.

it was called Lion Country Safari and i went there countless times one time my cousin nearly drowned we were gonna go on the one boat ride thingy and he slipped between the boat and the dock at the time (he was really small) and my uncle bent down to reach in and pull him up and he ended up splitting his knee open on the dock thingy that you tie the boat to. Kinda like an anchor. So we were taken backstage for my cousin to shower and change into clothes they provided since he was all wet and my uncle first aid for his knee.

You guys should check out the safari at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey - they have a super badass monkey area, you don't have to drive through that section if you don't want to. They have all kinds of warning signs about vehicle damage, and on the side of the road are pieces of antennas, spoilers, and many other bits that they remove.
