View Full Version : Are you a 'Rock Addict'?

Other than Disney, my other addiction is music.
I belonged to a website/group that sadly closed down last year. But, one of the administrators, who is indeed a Rock Addict, wanted a place to talk about music and he is great with reviews.
I would like to extend this invitation to anyone who would like to go over and talk about music. He has his favorites and reviews on the home page but there is a lot there to do. You can comment on his reviews, it does ask that you put your email addy but it doesn't show it.
There is also a forum/rockboard you can access from the main page. You need to sign up to post there. It also has a 'shout box' once you've signed up.
The moderator is Infinity and he is cool if you need to ask any questions.

Um, would having a 3 ft wide Aerosmith logo on the hood of the car count? :D

Um...I do think that qualifies as being an Addict. ;)
And, your wife, being the Bon Jovi fan, right, I think she does as well?
Give it a look, it is pretty bare right now on the rockboard but it will get there. The home {where the link takes you} has quite a lot of stuff to mess around with and read.
{must see that car....}

I would, but my knowledge of music would limit me to
"dewd! that totally rocks!" as far as contributions.

Capt Jack~ Yeah, well, that is a lot of what I post, too. :D Everyone hasn't shown up yet who were regulars at the last site but they all know about music, chords, blah blah blah blah that I don't. I just know if I like it, or not.
But, I know I love music so I still stick in my two cents. :D
GD~ Man, that guy is lucky. The comment about the gambling addict made a lot of sense.
Sure wish I could get a pass like that...I would guess he is going to a lot of small pub shows, on his income? Or lack thereof?
My story would have to be either when someone brought home Elvis or the Beatles. I remember drooling over the White album. Being fascinated with the Stones 'Paint It Black' and Black Sabbath, the album with War Machines, is that what it is called?
Okay, what I DID NOT APPRECIATE was how they called him an aging rocker. WTF??? Pfft. Scoff.
Whatever.

Ok hubby loves Aerosmith and i do too to some extent not as much as i used to but my "addiction" yes i call it that is Bon Jovi seriously. I do not know how to read chords though i even have guitar books but somehow was able to put together and play a couple of songs. But everything in our house is either Aerosmith or Bon Jovi. I don't listen to normal radio it's got to be Bon Jovi although i'm not as much as some of my fellow fans who know where the band is every day don't even ask me how...

That is cool that you were able to put together and play a couple of songs! That is awesome. I am totally lost there. I've tried, been around guitars all of my life, just can't get it. I can beat on drums, love that. Great for getting out aggressions.
LOL Yeah, I don't know how some people know exactly where there bands/people are at all of the time.
My house is a clutter of books, Disney, family, Yosemite, and rock posters. I have, in my living room {I don't know what the kids friends think...} a giant Audioslave poster from their Wiltern show, a giant Velvet Revolver poster, personally signed by Scott Weiland, a smaller poster of 311, signed by all of the members to the Hubby{I have one, too} with a pic of us with Nick...{damn hot fella}. As you walk into my room, I replaced a photo of the kids with a really cool framed Soundgarden picture. :D I had an AS poster up but put a wardrobe in its' place so moved that. A framed collection from a Thornely concert, autographed by the whole group with a guitar pic and a picture I took while riding the rail {LOL, okay, I just had to say that}. I had another framed collection from Los Lonely Boys but when I changed over my room I thought a beautiful picture of an angelic looking woman actually went better with the decor.
I love all music, addicted to Cornell, though. Am hoping to meet and greet with him someday....
Anywho, anyone who wants to go over, don't be scared away by the newness of it. Or by me. I am Euphoria Mourning.
{egads, did I just reveal my alter ego???}
That is the name of the first Cornell solo album. I loved it and I felt it fit how I felt, mourning my euphoria. Oh, the album is actually Euphoria Morning.

CM even tried to get me on Oprah when she had Bon Jovi on and i was one of the finalists considered for the show so he tried his best. But anyways i have in my bathroom i put pictures in there as well as an RSVP ad picture. A mirror on my side of the bed with pictures of Jon that i've taken in concert and on the dresser side Richie that i've taken as well as outside the bathroom door a mirror with pictures on it as well. Above our bed on the wall are posters from various albums tours. I bought last tour one of each poster (4 of em in total) and those are all framed. I have various picture frames around the kitchen where i used to have my desktop computer (now i have a laptop). I had a Bon Jovi heart and dagger mirror shipped well brought by hand all the way from New Jersey (from a fellow fan). My whole wardrobe is Bon Jovi (mostly) i have 5 full big huge binders of pictures from last tour that i've taken in person. As well as scrapbooks that i am making now. I've made a few pillows out of tshirts as well as bought.
I am really hoping was hoping to make a quilt but that project was put on hold for now.
I love guitar i haven't played in ages though. I love drums too. I can pick up a beat seriously. And it's easy to take out your frustrations on the drums. Guitar it's just relaxing to me in a way. I need to pick up guitar again.
I'm a proud member of Backstage with Jon Bon Jovi (used to be the whole band now it's just Jon).

Oh man, you totally have to know if I could I would have Chris Cornell all over my house. I live with 5 quite sarcastic and mean people who give me a lot of crap over my 'addiction' so, aside from what I've done, I have a lot put away. I have talked about making a room just for me and my pictures, etc., when one of the rooms becomes available {no, not pushing any kiddies out, really!!}. I have more posters to put up.Definitely.
I take a lot of photos, too, I prefer to have my own shots from concerts but I hate messing with security and all. I didn't take one to the two last Cornell events I went to. The second I could totally have gotten it in.
I'm also a member of the Chris Cornell fan club, called Cornells' Crew. {gosh, I believe}.
I've also received things from fans from other places, my bud from Australia brought me their special edition cd. My bud in Finland has sent me singles and stuff like that. The webmistress before used to send me some really cool photos. I love the communitiy!
The quilt!!! I saw what I think you are talking about on one of those craft channels. I would be making it out of all of my t's. I mean, I'd like to make it from all of them. Or at least from the shows I've seen. I have a few from shows I didn't attend.
LOL Aw damn it that we don't live closer I would LOVE to see your schtuff!!! And I would show you mine! ;)
Jon on Oprah~ he was freakin' awesome. Damn that you didn't make it on the show. It must be near to impossible to get on that show!!! {currently there is a contest to win a trip to it...her website has a link...} But, I saw him and he is pretty cool. A real decent person. And damn hot! LOL
Okay, gotta stop...keep saying hot and I need to get over that these guys are hot....talented...talented...

Jon better ease off the cigs, though - he's already having some trouble with notes that he used to hit with ease.

Yeah, I think that Cornell has stopped. Ya know he is famous for his 'screaming'. So, he needs to be able to sing the way he wants to and still throw in those primal screams, such as in Jesus Christ Pose.
I have held my tongue and not called the dj who gives him grief about not being able to hit those notes. I saw him live and he certainly did hit those!
