A West Highland White TerrierReally?
Various dogs
Various cats
Chickens
Various birds (my parents converted our house's sun porch to aviary and there was a time when we probably had more than 20 species of small bird out there, not counting the three cockatiels that lived in the house).
A rabbit
Various fish
Hamster
California king snake
Mice (not so much pets, they were eventually fed to the snake)
I feel like I'm forgetting something but that is what comes to mind. We grew up in town too. One day a UPS guy came to deliver something and found the dog, a couple cats, various chickens, and a rabbit sunning themselves in our driveway. It kind of freaked him out.
Another time one of the cockatiels almost got itself shot by a policeman.

2 of my goldfish committed suicide.
I thought they looked depressed......
Did they drown themselves?
(I'm sorry if that joke is in bad taste if you were close to the fish.)

In youth a lot of dogs and cats. I remember a couple of weiner dogs (Hinkie and Missie), an English Sheep Dog mutt (Waldo) and a Scottie (I forget the name). We also had several mice, and I had a California King Snake. Oh, I also had an oscar - nasty little bugger related to the piranha.
With Susan, we've had a plethora of cats - all strays: Tiger, Willie, Femalé (pronounced as if it were a Spanish name: fey-mall-ee), Bindy (who was traded with MIL for Ally - as in McBeal: we kept Ally's name out of respect but Bindy got renamed by MIL) and Rufio.
We had several fresh water fish nut currently only have a Beta and with a placostamus.
And of course our Bearded Dragons:
Gratch, Scarlett, and Bruisette (was named Bruiser until we had her sexed).
Modo and Casper
Bubble (his brother, Squeek, was recently adopted)
Elvis
Draco (named by Tori) and Nesbitt
And thousands of crickets, superworms (like mealworms on steroids) and baby mice: but those are food, not pets.

My Racoons were Roxy and Roxanne.
I had a female cat named Atlas! Some one sugessted "Alice" and my mom thought they said Atlas, and after they stopped laughing, the name stuck. We got plenty of looks at the vet when they asked her name....

When I was tiny my folks had a black and white English Springer Spaniel named Spook. Spook would play in the snow.
My first dog I remember was Princess, also a Springer, and b/w. She was terribly smart and dad used to take her hunting.
Somewhere along the line I picked up a cat named Lisa. (I don't know where I got the name from, I was about 5). We moved, kitty got out, parents retrieved pregnant kitty, and we had kittens. I was about 11 now. Kittens being irresistable, I took a friend to see them. This was something of a cranky kitty, and she chased my friend around the (unfinished) basement of my parents' house, clinging to my friend's back. She slashed me above my eyebrow. I was afraid to tell my mom because I knew she'd yell at me for going down to see the kitties without her. I never dreamed *my* cat would hurt me.
Next cat was a calico stray we named Liza. She lived a long time. A much quieter cat.
My brother had a chameleon at some point, and my other brother had a pet rabbit. I don't know that they ever had names, though it seems odd to not name a pet. Maybe I just don't remember.
Somewhere along the way when Princess passed over the Rainbow Bridge, we got a new Springer from the neighbors whose dog had puppies. This was a Springer, but she was inbred and it showed. Liver and white, kind of a pretty dog, but OMG was she dumb.
As an adult, hubby and I have had various fish, and most recently a dwarf water frog (named Shortbus), as well as dogs and a cat.
His first was Rosebud the Basset Hound.
Then we got Margie, basset queen of the universe. Just ask her. Cranky old lady but we loved her. Then Ottis came along, pampered little boy basset. Margie went onward, and Penelope came along (another basset) to keep him company. Pretty dog, not real bright, but very obedient and cooperative, provided the instruction is simple.
My cat came along, Bast, the black stray kitten. Hub's girlfriend who lived here with us got two cats in a row, one a Siamese/Abyssinian mix, the other a calico stray. She took those with her when she moved out.
Current population- two bassets, one cat, one fish, one snail, and the water frog.

As a kid-
Two springer/german short hair (we think) mixes - Fudge and Meatball
Two cats - Mr. Kat and Anthricite
Two hamsters - Herbie One and Herbie Two
Two turtles - Creepy and Crawley
tons of various fishies
My sister had two guenie pigs - ugh they chattered to each other all night.
one parakeet - Gwendolyn which the cat ate
Various horses - Penny, Buddy, Cherokee um forgot the mean Shetland Pony's name.
Now we have one beta fish that just won't die so I can get rid of the tank.

I grew up on a farm.
Currently we (the Boy and I) have:
5 rats
1 PoohDog (our vicious, overprotective, terratorial basset)
1 Chicken
I am thinking about redoind my fishtank and getting some more tetras and a water frog, but it is too hot to send boy into the attic to find the tank.

And if anybody is interested in acquiring a Bearded Dragon, let me know - I would be happy to get you set up!

Thank you Kevy! :)
I've had kitties. Real ones (not the ones Kevy has).
Mench
Tigger
Tiger
Springer
Boo
Countless goldfish
A few Sharky fish
A Chameleon that I had to have for 4th grade. I hated that thing and the boy next to me feed it, touch it and take care of it. Funny story - said boy came into BR when I worked there. Wow was he all growed up. And he remembered taking care of that thing for me. He did it because he had a crush on me. I asked him to cause I had a crush on him.
Mench was my parents kitty. He went to kitty heaven when I was 8
A few months after Mench went to kitty heaven we adopted Tigger from the vet when he was 6 months old. Some one hit him with his car, took him to the vet and never came back. At least they took him to the vet. 21 years later he is the most spoiled kitty ever.
One day about 2 years later my mom and I were leaving Huntington Center and someone was giving away kittens. Tiger came home with us. I thought I was so cute naming him Tiger. So we had Tigger and Tiger. And they looked alike. Tiger was the most awesome cat ever. He sat like Jabba the Hut. He went to kitty heaven about 9 years ago.
Chewy Springer aka Osoma Bad Kattan came home with us a few months later.
Boo adopted my parents house about 3 years ago.
Did they drown themselves?
(I'm sorry if that joke is in bad taste if you were close to the fish.)

Haha! A freak like me. :D
I'm the girl who spends a gazillion dollars trying to win fish at the carnival in order to "save them" from being neglected prizes.
I finally won Bubbles (that was her name) when I was in my mid-to late twenties. I went directly to Petco and bought everything under the sun to make Bubbles happy! Less then a week later, I woke my boyfriend up, shrieking that Bubbles wasn't moving. He got out of bed, all irritated, snapping at me and flushing Bubbles. :(
Later that day, when I came home from work, he surprised me with a beautiful big fishbowl. Inside, swimming, was a beautiful Betta fish. I named him "Digi" (we both worked in post-production, and a digi-beta is a commonly used type of tape format). Heehee..get it? Digi-beta? He felt bad for getting upset with me in his 1/2 slumber and the fact my little Bubbles passed away. That was so thoughtful & sweet of him.
I had Digi for a little over a year before he passed away (not that long after, my boyfriend passed away, too.) I cried as I said a little prayer before I flushed him down the toilet (the fish, not my boyfriend. We buried him, for goodness sake! We're not savages.)
That would make me the world's dumbest blonde and polak if I buried my fish and flushed my boyfriend down the toilet. Golly, give me some credit.
Now, I'm sitting here laughing hysterically! I'm also smiling up above as I wink toward the sky, Heavenward. I never thought I'd reach that point. Boy, I really wish we could laugh in person together as friends. :)

We had a puffer fish who was a charmer, a mini-Shamu he would leap out of the tank for a tasty krill treat. He was also quite adept at shooting a stream of water to knock the krill out of your hand. The other fish were pretty, but Puffer had talent.
