Wow, that is sad. Still, what a life, and he kept making films until the age of 84. Fanny and Alexander is one of my top ten faves, so I'll have to give my Criterion disc a spin later on.

Very sad news! Fanny and Alexander is also one of my top 10, but there are plenty of other Bergman greats. He was very influential and iconic. What a long and productive life he led. We should all be so lucky.
