Are we aware of the magnitude of this upcoming Disneyland event (http://www.register123.com/event/profile/web/index.cfm?PKwebID=0x91030e65e)?
Not only are they selling cool original art by Imagineers, DCP folks and more, but they're selling and/or auctioning off tons of stuff from the 50th.

Me wants the Donald Duck figure!
:)
$35 to participant in the auction by phone.
$45 to actually be in the room with the stuff.
Unlike most merchandise events built around some park related theme/event I just can't see paying $800 for the top package just to have an opportunity to shop at a garage sale. Especially since there isn't even a guarantee of being able to buy anything you want. To get into the Dream Sale where things aren't being auctioned requires only $45 but you get in 6.5 hours after the first people. To get in the door at opening is $675 ($130 if you are willing to be 3 hours behind the first).
A couple free gifts but still, this is almost pure shopping and not a celebratory event like most.

Me likes the Snow White & 7 Dwarfs frame. It might fit in my living room!

So, we've* decided the Tiki 50 must be (the collective) OURS!
Who wants to contibute to bids, and by how much? Let's get a dozen people in on this, and each of us will keep the Tiki 50 for one month ... until the LoT Commune unites us all in abode!

Yeah, all the Swankers who were at the Park this past weekend - - unanimously and spontaneously agreed it was the Tiki 50 that must be nabbed from the greedy clutches of Richard Kraft.

One Tiki to rule them all, One Tiki to find them, One Tiki to bring them all and in the darkrides bind them

And whom, pray tell, gets to keep it until such communes are reality?

Everyone who goes in on the One Tiki* will possess it for a period each year that coincides with the number of people who go in on the winning bid. If 12 people, then each keeps it for a month.
* DreadPirateRoberts' appropriation of the LotR poemlet was particularly apt. This is indeed the One Tiki ... the self-same 50 that was guerilla-revised to read "51" on the occasion of Disneyland's infamous 2nd 50th Birthday.

Hmmm...yeah, that might be pretty steep....
I may have missed a thread about it but was anyone able to attend the Pagents of the Masters this year? I had wanted to but it fell to the backburner....looks like it would have been awesome {is it over?}.
