Wow! I've been meaning to get out to see the Weeki Watchi mermaids for eighteen years now. I guess I'd better hop to it.

Unfortunately there's not much else to do at Weeki Wachee. But the mermaid show is pretty fun.

How bizarre... I just found out about the Weeki Wachee mermaids from J a few days ago. Apparently, it's a favorite of his grandma's.

Damn! I actually used to live near there, and I've never heard of it.

Maybe everyone's "day off from the parks" when they come to Florida might be a good day to go to see the live mermaid show?

I remember going to Weeki Wachi when I was a kid. We used to live about an hour from there. Unfortunately, time has not been very kind to it. But if you love rodeside attractions, this is definately a fun one. I hope it survives.

Aww! I ♥ mermaids. When I was a little girl, I was just obsessed with them (thank you, Madison 'Daryl Hannah' in Splash). I would pray & pray to God to turn me into one. How fun to swim in the sea, have seahorses as pals, wear starfish in your flowing tresses and call Atlantis home? Afterall, you can't hear your parents constant bickering, threats and tears when you live under the sea!

Okay, I'm getting way off subject and having traumatizing childhood flashbacks.

I would love to see the Weeki Wachee Mermaids! Isn't this the same mermaid show that Paris & Nicole tried out for on The Simple Life? How glamorous is that picture €uroMeinke posted? I love it! I can't wait to read or listen to the story!

Sigh. I still wanna grow up & be a mermaid someday. Or a Laker Girl. ;) :p

I always wanted to be a mermaid as well. I think it had to do with the admiration the Disneyland mermaids got.

Wow. I didn't think anyone outside the state of Florida even knew about Weeki Wachee. Oddly, even having lived here all my life, I've never been there.

During my 6 months in Florida, that was a place on the list we never got to either

Me, too. I used to play mermaid in my grandparent's pool. My parents would make fun of me.

This was last year.

I kid. My gramps sold that house when I was still a kid. But many a summer, I played mermaid. By myself. No way was my brother playing mermaid with me.
