Who is: dead?

I always liked Merv. I'll never forget watching The Village People's breakthrough performances on his show as my jaw dropped.

Say hello to Miss Miller.

Yeah, I was just reading about him falling ill again.

Merv Griffin is a classic! RIP!

How odd. I was just reading a "headline" at the drug store yesterday about "Merv Griffin's Secret Gay Life". I thought this "news" had come out postmortem. I thought he died last year.

Oh well. RIP Merv.

Oh :( I had heard he was working on developing a new crossword puzzle based game show. Creative to the end.

Yeah, I had seen him selling that game show recently, but based on the quality of examples he was giving I didn't have high hopes for it.

I have never seen any of his talk shows and pretty much only know him as a shill and real estate developer but maybe now I'll finally getting around to watching some of the "40 interesting people" interviews from his show that I bought for a couple bucks at the Tower Records fire sale.

I hadn't known that it was Merv Griffin I was hearing when this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3j-X6bFhOo&mode=related&search=) used to play. (I seem to remember this exact recording being played while puppets pretended to sing it on Captain Kangaroo.) Anyhow, the link will take you to a YouTube video, where the song is accompanied by random anime. This was a huge hit back in the day. Hmm.
