It's so shocking when our government actually does something right, isn't it??
I always knew our government was shady, greedy and untrustworthy, so anything out of that norm is just so..... wow. (Work in the legal field for a few years and you'll REALLY get to know how shady our government is, on every level. Makes me want to move to Canada sometimes) ;)

Americans have this misguided idea that governments (and by extension, those in government) should be pure and noble. Europeans have no such delusions, so when one of their officials has an affair or embezzles, they just shrug and move on. Ce la vie!

Never said that. It's just annoying when you're butting heads with government workers who lie to your face constantly and then say "but I'm just doing my job!" when they're caught lying. (i.e. this week with my job lol)
Heh this is all for a different thread. Maybe I should have said, "all governments are shady to different degrees, ours included, so it is shocking when they do something right". Canada has its share of problems and shadiness too ;)
