I'm heading to Pasadena to see this film (http://www.laemmle.com/viewmovie.php?mid=3283) tonight, it's on a limited release to qualify for the Academy Awards.
8:45 pm, unfortunately it closes tonight. I have no idea how long it's been playing.
See you there?

The film is directed by Leslie Iwerks, granddaughter of the man who brought us Mickey Mouse. It's a great little movie. If you've followed Al Lutz's chronicles of Pixar/Disney over the years, nothing comes as new information. However, here you get the treat of film clips, behind the scenes stuff, music, and amazing interviews. If you've mined the special features and Easter eggs on your Pixar DVDs you've seen things like the First Annual Paper Airplane Contest in Emeryville, but you've never seen John Lasseter at the Disney Studios with a handheld camera in 1980 - jeez, he looks 17! I did wonder that Joe Ranft's untimely death was not ever mentioned in the film, I'd like to know why. Pixar's (and John Lasseter's) rocky relationship with Disney is honestly portrayed, as well as the premature burial of the 2D animation department.
Bonus: Amongst the group of chatting outside the theater, I spied Tony Baxter! In all the times I've run into him, he's always holding court. Never leaves me an opening to jump in there with a suggestion or two. One of these days!

That sounds like a cool movie. Was it made with Pixar's blessing?
